so lately its getting worse and worse even when stopping from 40mph my steering wheel is starting to vibrate and the steering wheel just turns by itself..my allignment is way off but i dont know if thats whats causing the vibration

Get an alligment and change the rotors.

With Irotor, I haven't had any vibration under the heaviest of breaking.

any shaking while braking is usually warped rotors....

I believe you can get them resurfaced so they are smooth once again, but the warped rotors are caused by hotspots so the resurfacing is a short term fix....

correct me if i'm wrong...

if you have the $$$ just replace the rotors at the end you will have to replace them anyway.

hmm yea rotors are deffinetly on the list now, but do you guys think i can drive for a few more months untill i save up for them or is this risky?

That is up to you. You won't have any problems, but if you complain about the vibration.. trust me it is going to get worse.......

It will get worse over time. As well as being annoying, it will become more of a safety issue. Try not to let it go on too long.

Typically not. The majority of the warping issue is from the fronts. However, inspecting the rears and possibly changing the rear pads may be something to consider while doing the fronts.

You could change them out yourself, its really not all that hard.

I'd recommend the Powerslot rotors and Hawk performance front brake pads.

I got those put on and now I have no steering wheel pulse/vibrations during braking.

For winter braking, I'd suggest driving around the block once or twice with your foot on the brake pedal just enough to cause the vehicle to slow and giving it gas to keep the car moving. This would heat the pads and rotors so when you need to jerk stop, everything's warm enough to get you stopped quickly. (anyone got more experience care to elaborate or clarify?)

Side Note Question: I have this exact same issue. Especially under braking, but the vibration/pulsing also occurs when my car is moving with or without acceleration. Would this also be a warped rotor issue?

You will definitely be able to tell when its about to get too dangerous when your ABS starts to really kick in under breaking that is not that heavy. It will scare the **** out of you. Took my car to get new brakes the next day.

It only happens when braking so that completely eliminated anything having to do with wheel balance or alignment. If a brake line is kinked or restricted it will cause the steering wheel to turn when braking. You should pull the wheels off and inspect the lines for kinks and pads for wear. Worn out pads along with the warped rotors would cause what you are describing. A cheap solution to your problem is to find someone in town that will turn rotors. I have a place here in birmingham that if you bring in the rotors they will turn them for $6 and if your pads are above 4/32" just sand the surface of the pads down to get all that black glaze off and you should be good as gold.

I have a similar issue with my 2k1 Maxima, but in my case the rotors were beginning to rust. My problem was the inner tie rod which i'm getting replaced tomorrow. I understand there is a TSB out on it but I have no idea how to get a detailed description of TSB's anyone know?
