check all your fuses. if you had a short form an accident a few fuses might have been blown. if you're saying the plastic on the sensor is cracked then i think your crank pos or ref sensor might be damaged. take a test light or a multimeter and start checking the wires for connectivity.

I had starting problems twice. The starter turns the engine, but it wont start running, right?
Maybe yours is a different problem, but in my case, both times, the ECU was preventing an engine start. First time was corrosion between the engine and transmission, causing a voltage drop, detected by the ECU, and prevented spark (or something to keep the engine from running.) Second time was the same thing, but instead of corrosion, the shop that replaced my clutch failed to tighten two of the mounting screws enough causing the same voltage drop.
If you were in an accident, maybe it is possible you have a voltage drop somewhere? And you wont decect it from the battery. Maybe you can try measuring the voltage between the alternator and the chassis somewhere.
I hate to say it, but your best bet is to tow it to Nissan. They will probably rape you, but they WILL fix it.
