Rubber bumper damaged - advice needed

Hi guys,
Yesterday I was replacing belts and bushings on the sway bar on my '02 SE.
I agree with forum members: there's noticeable improvement.
However, I noticed the broken absorber's rubber cover, which factory manual calls "Bound Bumper rubber": the lovest couple of rubber "coils" are almost detached.
For some reason, I cannot post attachment to submit the picture, nor am I able to paste it into the forum.

My question: is this a matter of concern s(ince the replacement is quite involved) or this could be safely ignored? How could I upload a picture?

Thanks!

Eugene

They help keep sand and dirt off the piston rod. They do help prolong strut life, but probably not worth changing until it's time for new struts.
