Check engine light wont go out

Ok well i disconnectd the brake booster hose so i could spray carb cleaner in it to clean the manifold and after that took out the air box so i could clean the throttle body w carb cleaner. THe check engine light is on and wont go off. I know the engine was reading that the mass air flow sensor "was broke" as no air was flowing past. NOw the check engine light is on and wont go off. And yes i did the ecu reset procedure wit hthe gas pedal and such but no results. Any hints other that going to my fathers and connecting to a scan tool to clear the light?

Clear it with a scanner. If it comes back, then your MAF is no good.

If you're getting a code, something is wrong. You should find out what the code is before clearing it. If you clear it and it doesn't come back, then you're most likely ok.

I heard that the later 5th gener's have problems after a self throttle body cleaning. I believe this is mainly caused by the throttle positioning sensor. The sensor is much more sensitive than the 2k-2k1 models. I would check here and ask around with other members who have done this procedure for the 2k2-2k3 models.

well got the code cleared last night. Hooked up the scanner and at first it was a 1102 code " mass air flow sensor" like i thought. Cleared it and it came on again. WTF. I just took care of it. So hook up again and now a 0507 code. Code for the throttle body. Checked a bunch of stuff and then shut car off, disc the plug to the tb and cleaned it and plugged back in.... cleared code, drove it and now its bye bye light. Moral. Check connections cause that may throw a code and urk you all day for no reason but to just clean the connections.
