Warm A/C!!

Recently with the warm weather I wanted to test out my A/C system since I have not used it after buying the car (bought it in the middle of winter). I put it on and it comes out warm from the top vents, and cooler from the bottom but then goes warm also. What can I do to fix this? Should my in-cabin filter have anything to do with this or do I need to replace/fix anything? I havent really given it a look yet and my assumption is that it's low on since it does start out a bit cool then goes warm. THANKS!!

How would I go about doing that? My heater also takes a while to actually start to get warm whereas my friends 00 max is almost instantaneous. Do I need to take it to a shop to recharge it? or can I do it myself? thanks..

It can be done at home, I have never had to do it though... Also any shop should be able to do it for you.

Recharging your air conditioning is/can be a do it yourself job. But it appears you have never done it and based on that I would recommend that you take it to a shop because in this case ignorance can be dangerous. You have to pump some freon into the system and there is a special recirculation process that the shop will do as well as a hose pressure test to check for leaks in the system. Bottom line: there my be pinhole leaks that would require you to have certan hoses replaced, because if my memory is right, you should not have to replace freon this soon, so that to me would indicate that there is something wrong with your system.

Thank you for the info. I guess I'll be taking it to the shop for the A/C and my CV joints. Hopefully after that my car will feel like new again lol

not freon! freon is a manufacturer of r-12 refrigerant.
our cars utilize r-134a refrigerant
make sure if you are going to do it yourself, get the right one
but yea, you should bring it to a shop so they can put a vacuum on your system and sees if it holds the vacuum; if it doesn't, you have a leak

i thought r-134a is a freon as well =X .. anyways, either you're low on refrigerant, you have a leak, or in rare cases, your air compressor is broken.
