Stock Speaker Size?

I need to know the speaker sizes for an 03 SE non-BOSE setup. I'm replacing the speakers that are in there now, which are not the originals. The owner before me has put after market speakers with sizes of 5.25? WTF? is this correct because I was thinking they were bigger. So I'm looking for replacement speakers that will sit flush with the stock setup.

Thanks in advance guys.

blue is right. 6.5 in the front doors, 5.25 in the rear doors, 8 inch sub in the deck... at least for a Bose system and tweets.. i think 1 in in the a pillar

Speaking of, I noticed something odd, a glint of silver when I opened my driver's door on a sunny day a few weeks ago. Looking closer, it is obvious the speaker was upgraded. I checked the rest of the speakers with a flashlight and for some reason, the speakers on the driver's side are aftermarket and the passenger side appear to have the stock speakers. Why in the world would anyone do that kind of upgrade?

Since they are co-axils, probably move them both to the rear and put components in the front doors.

Thanks guys...Yeah some people do some weird things to the car and you don't find out until after you've bought it and start taking things apart to find their "Genius" hook-ups and crap...kinda like putting 5.25's all around. lol

have you tried using the fader controls? try fading it to each corner for a moment and comparing. if anything one will be louder than the other.

Oh I did but couldn't get a straight answer.

I started the thread here because it was straight forward to the 5th generation and since I was only looking for the size of speakers it was easier to come here.

If I had a technical electronic question such as wiring, power, ground, etc..then I would have gone to the audio section but I only needed some dimensions of speakers.

I bought some 6 1/2's today, which is what should have originally been in there.

Those 5.25s don't put out very good sound to me and you get no mid bass.

i have mb quarts components in the rear doors, infinity kappas components in the front and a pillar and 2 12 punchs in the trunk. 600 watt amp to the subs, 120 watt to the rears and 200 to the front. They are profile california series amps. I dont know if your in mass but mine sounds real good. Clean, crisp, lots of mid and low bass. Not that any of you do but if you listen to classical or rock it shines. No dist when cranked with rap or heavy bass. i just placed my subs to down fire and sounds even better. Its all in how you set up your gains, crossovers and such.

Uh...not all of us are 17-years-old's bowing down before MTV. I'd rather put a turd in my mouth than listen to rap or pop.

Agreed they are why would they put 6.5 up front then freakin 5.25 in the rear? that makes no sense. for you info the non-bose in the 4thgen was 6.5 all round and the rear were up in the rear deck. I like the speakers in the rear deck you get a better balanced sound and can easily cut open to git 6x9's

Some bose system maximas had 5.25 in the rear, so did some gle models

ST and SE model maximas without bose use 6.5's all round, that why the confusion between sites, mines a 2001 ST Maxima A33 and it has 6.5 all round
