pop the vent assembly off
there are 4 screws holding the radio and climate control bracket on, plus a 5th screw inside the ashtray.

My friend and I took out the radio in five minutes, but the B!tchy part is taking out those four screws, make sure you are carefull with them, we almost ruined the screws.

I am vaguely remembering having a similar problem. I think there was something to do with the antenna... if the antenna wasn't plugged in, it would make noise because the grounding was removed. I'm not sure if this is the same thing you are experiencing.

wait, I just remembered. it was different. I was hearing a thumping noise when the antenna wasn't plugged in, not a hum. different problem.

You are running your amp power cable to close to your signal wires from the deck. You should run your power cable on the oposite side of the vehicle to prevent interference.

Excellent help with radio removal...thanks. Anyone have advice on how to clean and/or replace the power push button volume control (2001)? Mine is intermittent for power on/off and volume adjustment.

A basketball rite of passage

My battery was replaced by AAA Battery. When I turn on my radio it did not come on. I cannot find my car manual to get the radio code. I went to the dealer and they told me it will cost me $140.00 to scan and get the code. I am really upset after paying AAA $139.00 for a battery. Please advise! I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima.
