What bulbs to buy?

I just upgraded to a 5.5 gen from my 4th gen. I need some help with bulb selection. I look at the stock headlights and don't like how the front end doesn't match bulb color wise. I do however like my stock low beams and would like to build everything around that. So I was wondering, to match stock color what parking lights, high beam, and fog light bulbs will look good and match? But, I would like to not buy any conversion kits or anything real expensive, just swap bulbs. Also I bought a 2003 TE 6-speed, was wondering, how I do I know if I have LSD?

you have HIDs? if so and you wanna match the HID color... go with Luminics "pure blue" halogens for the high beams and fogs, and polarg hyper white bulbs for the markers and blinkers. or white LED's, but the LED's will make your blinkers go twice as fast. look at my signature... those are pure blue headlights and LED sidemarkers/blinkers

Yes, I have HID's, but it looks like you have a 5th gen, my HID's have a purple tint.

Chris, are your fogs HID?

Either way, might want to consider choosing a bulb temp/color from Operatic in the group deal section and matching headlights and fogs

well im not positive if 5.5gens are stock with HID fogs, if not then I would definitely go all HID and buy all bulbs with the same temp. Everything will match up nicely

welcome to the 5th Gens, please do everyone a favor by simply typing in the questions you have in the search box at the top of the webpage.
These are very common questions that have numerous detailed threads.
To be nice I simply searched LSD in the 5th Gen Forums for you and found in the first result
http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...r-has-lsd.html

About the bulbs heres a great site that i got from searchin way back and saved it.

Thank you for the lsd thread, but as far as bulbs go I have read the threads and havn't found a difinitive answer. I really just want my low beams, high beams, parking, and fog light color to match. I don't really care to much about brightness.

only real definitive way to do this is to do like I said and get bulbs of the same temp from the SAME vendor. As for the parking lights/turn signals...I would recommend Polarg Hyper White bulbs. They wont match exactly, but they are very close to certain temps.

Did any 03 maximas come with HID fogs stock? Is the only way I can match the fog color and and high beam color to the low beam is if I convert both to HID?

If there was another way, so many people wouldn't spend the cash on upgrading to HID, they would just simply buy bulbs from the companies that falsely advertise their bulbs as xenon/hid

So I looked at the group buying and it looks like I will have to buy a fog light HID kit. Now for the high beams, do most org members just ignore trying to color match it with the HID low beams? And for the parking lights, do you guys suggest going with Leds or tinted bulbs?

considering you already have HID setup, you might as well buy the high beam bulb as well. But its up to you, me personally, I hardly ever use my high beams. So you will need the fog HID kit with ballasts and bulbs, low beam bulbs, and high beam bulbs if you wish.

Parking lights depends on what temp lows you go with. And if you go the LED route, be aware that some LED's cause the blinker to do the infamous retard flash. So you would most likely need to add a resistor.

the HID setup for the 02-03 are only low beams, high beams are a 9005 bulb. parking lights are not the turn signal. what parking light bulb do you guys suggest for a 6000k bulb?

These are the ones I have and they are a near perfect match with my 6000k HIDs.

I also had the luminics pure blue H3s in my fogs before I switched to HIDs and they match pretty well real nice white with a slight blue tint. I still have the bulbs if you're interested PM me I'll sell em to ya cheap only used for like a month.

Don't want to thread hj but anyone know where to replace the running lights in the headlights. I guess the part numbers and where to buy?

HID H3 6k fogs are great from operatic in the GB section
