Rising RPM's??

Hello,
I have an 01 I30 with a small problem. It only occurs when the car is warm. The problem is that when the car is warm and stopped at a light or in traffic I notice my rpms a little higher than normal. When I put the car into neutral, the RPM's slowly rise to about 2000 or so almost like a stuck throttle cable. If I shut the car off and put on again while still in neutral, the problem goes away for a few min then happens again when I am stopped.

The RPM's may be higher than normal under acceleration also but the acceleration itself throws me off so I cannot tell if the car is giving more throttle than what I am pressing down on the pedal.

Keep in mind that it only happens when the car is warm and has been getting worse lately. Car has full tuneup, I checked throttle cable, and no codes at all. Car is pretty much stock besides a GAB. Any suggestions?

Ok. Just replaced my iacv. Problem still occurs. Only happens when the car is hot and stuck in traffic usually. NYC traffic sucks.

Does it make a difference whether your a/c is on or not? Try adjusting the throtlle cable; there's a little stopper that you can turn. When I was working on a friend's explorer, I had a similar problem that was intermittent but seemed much more prone to happening when the a/c was on and it turned out this stopper was adjusted too high, pushing the throttle open too much.

Already tried adjusting the throttle cable. It does not make any difference. It is not getting stuck. However it does seem to happen more often when the AC is on.
