confused with lighting!!

hey folks, i need some ideas for my max lighting. I already have clear side markers on my Silver max but im thinking to do some changes... like clear side markers front and stock red in the back or clear front and clear in the back with red bulbs so they match with the back lights, or smoked side markers... Any ideas??? or even better if i see some pictures......

#1. Stock Red markers are legal, everything else is illegal.
#2. 99% of us will get away with the clear/smoked markers .
#3. Try them out, take pics, and post to see which will look better.
#4. I think smoked on silver looks great, I believe Rochester has the smoked one on his.

I would leave the rear red markers alone, mine are clear with a red bulb and I don't think they look that good still. The fronts looks good clear with an amber bulb.

+1 I have "smoked" ebay ones. I say "" because they look clear to me. I will hit them with some Night Shades later to darken them a bit.

I have a silver Max and went with the clear ones and put LED bulbs in. Red in back and orange in from front.

That is correct, sir. Clear looks cheap, IMO.

I have clear so they don't look dingy at night with the lights on, but they also don't have yellow bulbs.

Agreed. Cleared markers only look OK on the White Max. Otherwise, smoke 'em.

Or in the case of the Merlot Max, leave the OEM lenses right where they are.

Pics not as sharp as the front, but you get the general idea.

Smoked sides are perfect on a silver car.

Technically the sidemarkers are supposed to reflect red and amber, respectively, even with the lights off. So the clear/smoked markers are illegal in the first place.

I had a set of the smoked markers and they looked brown with my white LEDs at night with the lights on. Sure, I could go smoked with amber bulbs, but it looks weird. Maybe if I change to 3k fogs

My fronts are smoked with Amber incandescent bulbs. The rears are smoked with red LED 5-way refractor bulbs. Lit up at night, they look almost indistinguishable from the standard lenses.

Yes, with red and amber bulbs the smoked markers look fine. I did single out my white LED bulbs specifically when making that statement.

I didn't say it was widely enforced or anything. Mine have been like this for years with not a single incident. The only reason I know for sure is that soonerfan once spammed a thread of mine about how illegal my lights were.

They're smoked ones that have a grey inner housing and some that have a black inner housing, obviously the black inner housing is darker, but for the rear they only make the grey inner housing.

What am I missing here? You're trying to find the red OEM rear markers? I don't get it... did you buy your car used, and the previous owner had swapped lenses?

My red rears are in a box somewhere in my attic.

+1 on smoked over clears. Clears might look good on white, but only white, IMO. Usually, clears just look cheap and ricey.

Thanks for the compliments. I won't lie, I totally love the look on people's faces when there's reason for me to open the hood.
