Dash Lights Out

Hello,

I just realized last night that my dash lights are out. I checked the fuse box but could not locate any slot for dash/console lights. As suggested here in other forums, I checked to ensure that the tailiights are working

I would be very grateful for any pointers to resolve this.

Sincerely, Noela

You did check to see if the dimmer switch isn't turned down?

It's a fuse under the dash. Check the 7.5A's.

My apologies: I actually failed to turn the dimmer switch high enough ... feel silly !. But thanks for all your thoughts -- at least, i now know where the fuse is possibly located.

cheers - Noela

Where is the dashboard fuse...?

Im pretty noob at cars so I was looking around the forums because im having problems with my Maxima's dashboard lights randomly not turning on 70% of the time.

If im VERY lucky. The left side of the dashboard will turn on. The right side of the dashboard always turn on.

But the left side is the only part that has trouble turning on sometimes and it's pretty annoying.

I thought it could be a blown fuse so I had a guy come and look at the fuse for the dashboard lights but he couldn't locate where they could be.

I checked on the forum and some users said the dashboard light fuse is either around the 7.5? Somewhere under the hood? 10 A? Some Eelctrical parts area?

My main question is... Where exactly is the fuse for the dashboard. And if it's not the fuse would replacing the bulbs do anything?

The fuse for the gauges/illumination is under the hood by the battery. It's a 10A, as I mentioned above your post.

It seems like you have a bulb that is about to die though, pull out the cluster and replace the bulbs, as an upgrade/alternate, I would suggest reading this thread if you're pulling the cluster out anyways:

Do the lights in the heater controls, radio, clock, window switches also not working or is it just in the speedometer cluster?

You might have connection problems on the the instrument cluster. Take the instrument cluster out and re-seat the wire connectors by unplugging and replugging several times.
