That's pretty good compared to mine... From super full to 1/4 tank, 300 km's. That's also with extremely light driving, no booting it around.

new tints and tires

20% all around and Goodyear eagle sports. Up to 55k miles now still great for a 2000 tho.

Sometimes failing O2 sensors will kill gas mileage. It is the sensor #1 or upstream sensor. While it may not be bad enough to cause a check engine code yet, it sends a "too lean" voltage to the ECU, which causes too rich a fuel mixture.

My buddy who did my valve covers for 700 got it done in one night repainted the heads blue so it would be easier to detect leaks in the future. He would teardown and repair for free and he also painted my engine cover which was peeling will post pic soon main color is black with chrome lettering, Nissan badge, and oil cap. Looks quite nice and was unexpected. Stealer quote was 1800 and would have been out of service for several days waiting on part to come in.

How much do you think it'll cost to replace both?

A buddy that does a vc gasket job and paint for $700 dollars is not much of a friend

Even at half what the dealer tried to charge a friend doesn't do that...smh

The job is "involved" but not $700 worth of paint and suffering....

@jprocs

I got a denso.02 on bank 1 amd a primechoice on bank 2 getting about 320mi per full tank....i paid $30 each...

Probably OEM, aftermarket and Maxima's don't mix well from what I've read.

I have to agree, no friend of mine would charge me more than a steak dinner . And is that can of paint on the fuse box what he used for the engine cover? Did he brush it on??? It looks that way from the reflections on the engine cover. Spray would have yielded a much more even finish.

At this point the job is done and at least you have new valve covers and I sure hope you used 6th gen parts.

Yea it was 6th gen parts. Longer story is its a buddy of mines stepdad whos the mechanic and has the proper tools (i dont have enough in my garage to do this). He works and has a busy schedule and just did my PITA ebay compressor job for very cheap so he got the OEM parts on discount from his supplier and charged for that and some labor time. Again, getting it done in one night is very fast, absolutely hate having to leave car at shop for days (my only car). He did spray the cover black but i tried to touch up the chrome by blocking off the rest with paint tape, problem was the can was bad from winter i guess and sprayed and squirted chrome spots everywhere. After some cursing i had to go back over the black with a brush and can i had in my garage to finish off the job.

I haven't really looked at it do you really need to take out the motor mount to get the sway bar out on these cars?

Got my Kenwood DNX691HD, soldered on 7551 harness, got DDin kit, steering wheel control box, and back up camera plate frame. Waiting on GPS antennae, and contemplating the Data link kit for it. Be neat to check and clear codes, and view all live date right on the screen. Hmmmmm........also took some old amp power wire, and made a grounding kit. Don't know why, just saw it there and soldered on some lugs and hooked them up....LOL Boredom therapy.

I might start making some threads on this stuff.

Hey Blake,

When they broke in, did they peel back your window column in the door? I noticed in the picture it kind of looks like they did, but I can't really tell.
