Just got done replacing my high pressure power steering hose and serpentine belts.
No more driveway leaks! Wasnt too bad of a job at all

Wiped out the car. Was making a left turn and got hit. I'm sure the thing is totaled.

Thanks for the concerns, guys.

It wasn't high speed and nobody was hurt. The car runs and drives fine but I think the car will be totaled as repairs are so expensive and the car is 16 years old. I'll find out Monday.

went to wash my car today, installed a new knock sensor, fixed a coolant leak ,and fixed the side marker lights. throttle is much more responsive now, also installed a new coil.

Should have the clutch, flywheel, and wheel bearings finished tomorrow! Can't wait to see how the new clutch and lightweight flywheel feels

Looks good but now it's going to guzzle oil since it's a 3.5 :P


This happened to me. Some a-hole did a hit and run when it was parked on the street.

It doesn't look like too much damage. If the upper support isn't really twisted (or weld a new one in), then you could fix this from the junkyard. Hood, fender, headlights, sidemarker and bumper cover.
The trick would be finding all good silver pieces. Not that everything would line up perfectly, though LOL

It's totaled.

If you wanted to stick with the 3.0 maybe you could find one with a blown engine/tranny and swap your stuff in and keep everything you want as a spare, then junk it.

I vote buy a blown 3.5 with hlsd and 5.7 swap

Just put a FTSB on the 3.5
Gotta figure out how to advance the timing on it..
Edit: Had to do the Idle Air Volume Learn, than set the timing..

I got a call from my insurance company and they said that they will repair the car. That really surprised me. My insurance company uses Service King and that is where I got the estimate. I am going to take the car to an Infiniti dealer that has a body shop for a second opinion.

I had seen an ad for a 2001 AE , white, manual trans and around 125K miles. I was going to buy it but decided not to. I spent so many years driving manual trans and I don't want to go back to that again.

yeah i'm surprised at that. about 4 years ago i had an altima (00) with similar damage and they didn't hesitate to total it

Interesting. Given the book value of our cars, this suggests they can have it repaired for less than $3500 or so.

OK got the jwt flywheel and clutch installed. Installed a new master cylinder and slave cylinder. Spent 1/2 the day to day trying to bleed the system. OMG this thing sucks to bleed. I have it about 99% there.

The nwp spacers and vais block off plate showed up today. Will put those in on Saturday and try to get the rest of the air out of the clutch line too.

Got the 5 piece nwp intake spacers installed and the vias block off plate installed. Haven't driven it yet as I had to cook dinner for my kids. Doing all the relearn procedure and test driving is going to happen tonight. (Have to drive the car out of town tomorrow so I hope every works)

Learn to love RTV and apply liberally
On the lower one you can still clean out any excess, so don't worry about over-application.

I put my set on in the middle of the summer and the difference was very noticeable. You know how heat soak makes VQs feel so sluggish. The midrange is absolutely improved with the spacers.
