Maxima 5.5 gen straight pipe or nah?

Hollowed all my cats. Then thought about removing the muffler for the hell of it. Should I ?

having tried to do this with true duals straight pipe with no x pipe, then trying it with an x pipe, and still getting the loud as hell and in my opinion sounding terrible still then getting two resonators on there making it sound a little better i would have to say NO save your time and money, if you're doing it for performance get an electronic cut-out so you can turn the loud on and off

the cut-out i've seen performance gains at WOT, but the true duals I didn't notice much difference to be honest.

i know...still probably going to sound terrible just letting you know from experience, just take of the exhaust before the cat after the cats on the headers and that will give you an idea how it will sound with a cut out and honestly it won't be much different straight piped back.

I have Cattman headers and a 2.5 inch straight pipe ( no cat no res ) and a Remus muffler on my 5.5. It's really loud if I'm on it but I love it. If I want to be quite I drive the Infiniti

I don't know how you guys can drive around like that and not go nuts, with headers + straight piped that is. I would only do that if I had a second car for real.

I actually love the sounds despite it being quite raspy, but it's way loud. Not for a daily driver.

Sounds horrible on the 5.5 and is way too loud - as stated above.

If it makes any difference this is coming from a guy who used to daily [and still semi-dailies] a Z31 with 2.5" complete straight pipe (and later with a dump pipe mid trans tunnel). Exhaust on my Z is loud enough to make your ears ring after about 20-30min (like after a metal concert).

Unless you like annoying, raspy, can-o-bees loud, and not sexy loud, I suggest you do not. JMO
