2001 Max AE Starting problem.

Long story short, recently replaces HP steering hose and pump and the starter a few months ago. One repair place wanted me to pay 600 for the hose alone, then when I asked about the starting they said may be the IAC valve and quoted another 600. Did not think that was reasonable, so brought to another shop and got a HP hose and subsequently a pump due to large amount of rust that ate it for 600. It does not have any issues idling really. I am not sure how much the iac could effect starting but what do I know. I have pulled the starter and had it tested, pulled the crank sensor and cleaned it including some rust on the exposed magnet. As it shows in the video sometimes it will stop attempting to start very quickly. Not sure what might cause this as well. So thank you if anyone can give any insight. Does pop a P0430 occasionally but goes away. And yes I am aware the ABS light is on.

Other than you only hold the key in the start position for about 2 seconds, what happens if you keep cranking the engine for MORE than 2 seconds?

Have the spark plugs ever been replaced? I see you have 127K on the odometer. Another possibility is try cleaning the throttle body.

Is the P0430 the only code you have?

Yes that is the only code. Same situation when holding it down. If it does not go within the first 2 it just chugs away. Yes since 54k when I got it I replaced the plugs at least twice I think with Denso's. I have not cleaned the throttle body but maybe a project for tomorrow.

There are two crank sensors.

I would clean/replace the MAF sensor before doing anything with the TB.

Try cleaning the crank sensor that is between the engine & transmission. Also, make sure the aluminum housing is smooth as well, sometimes corrosion builds up and actually pushes the sensor out a little.

Why wouldnt an issue with the housing or MAF not throw a code? Ill will try both, did strip the MAF sensor torx screw have to see if I can get that off. I have cleaned it previously.

When it finally starts, does it sputter a bit with a heavy "fuel" smell if you have the windows open?

It does seem that way. Just thought that was excess fuel from not starting. Today it seemed to be doing as at :22 when it seems to lose power. Starting to believe it is ignition going to troubleshoot more. Thanks for help so far everyone.
