Part # for reverse light switch? Help!
Hello guys, I'm 100% sure my reverse light switch has gone completely bad. Since I first bought the car I noticed that sometimes the reverse lights won't turn on. If I wiggle the shifter they would turn on no problem. Now they're not turning on at all so I need to replace that part. I need to know the part number to replace it. I'm having a bit of trouble finding it on courtesy nissan. haha.
Car Info: 2001 Nissan Maxima with 5-Speed Manual Transmission.
ANOTHER important question is: Do I really have to drain the entire transmission to change this part? I know that it's also the drain plug but can't I simply pull it out and put the new part in quickly before it all drains out? I changed the fluid about a year ago and I really don't want to pull out another $60+ for new amsoil oil.
Thank you!

In addition to the black drain plug part of the switch, there is a separate white rocker-type switch, that needs to be replaced. Rock Auto shows it in their part shots, so in order to get to that you need to drain it completely.

On the 6-speed the switch is on top but I guess the 5-speed is different.
If you have to drain the fluid just reuse it. There's nothing wrong with catching the fluid in a clean container and putting it back in. I've done it more than once. The 5-speed holds a lot of expensive fluid. Just be sure that the entire area near the drain is clean and there's nothing else that can fall from the car into the fluid.
I forget how much the 5-speed holds but an empty oil jug makes a great catch for fluid you want to reuse since it's already clean. If you don't have the height for that you can cut the side of it out and lay it on its side.
