Man, that sucks that you got robbed. I've had several cars broken into and stereos stolen and it sucks every time.

Since all opinions are apparently welcome, never leave a bag in your car anywhere that's visible. Thieves don't give a rats *** about your car and will break a window to take a bag even though they don't know what's inside it. Always put bags in the trunk. That of course won't stop someone from taking your stereo, but it's one less reason for someone to break in.

What A nightmare bro, crack heads will sell A baby seat for 5 dollars, be careful what you leave out in the open. Since the genius broke two windows instead of one that shows how bright he was....he needed only one to get in the car obviously.

this applies to anything really, even a little change just put in the small cubby

It irritates me when I see idiots leaving their Garmins on the dash right in the open, its just inviting for their windows to get smashed

aw sheesh that sucks, usually people break in when there is something left inside, such as your bookbag, which does entice thief just breaking in to take your bag. That's why I never leave anything in the car, but should be in the trunk or take it with you, sorry to hear your loss on the damage and theft.

That happened to my brother a few years ago at a train station in Long Island. He had parked his car at the train station for a few days & when he returned on the train he found a busted driver window. He had no idea how long ago it had happened, luckily it didn't rain while he was gone.

The worst part was he had a 3.5 hour drive home & it was a Sunday so he had to drive home with the broken window & glass all over the driver side. The thieves didn't even get anything because he didn't leave anything in the car however he did have his empty GPS mount on the dash so we assumed they broke the window assuming there was a Garmin hidden somewhere in the car.

Like the other posters said, thieves will steal anything. I remember when I was a kid someone broke into my grandfathers car to steal some loose change he had in the console. It couldn't have even been $2 in change.

Sorry that this happened to you.

I always make it a point to not leave things in the car for this same reason. Learned my lesson many years back.

Thanks for the wakeup reminder man. I'm currently living on a military base as a retiree and find myself getting too comfortable because my car is in my sight constantly. I got into the bad habit of leaving my garmin, checkbook and other valuables in plain view. Even though my windows are tinted all it takes is 30 seconds for a desperate thief to do a bash and grab.

Sorry to hear man.

It happened to me with my brothers IS300.

I left it at GO station and came back to a perfectly cut driver rear window and the new stereo and climate control gone. They even took my cigarettes

We installed a new alarm with glass break sensors and proximity sensors the next day.

I ended up buying him a new stereo.
