dry your shoes before driving or cover them with some kind of rubber material

Solution:

Only wear racing shoes when driving.

Get serious.

I used to have some on an RX-7. They had the little black circle things on there to give you grip. Slippery pedals = not safe.

Yeah I'm not liking how slippery they are during the rain but they look nice

I haven't been in many other cars, but i rode in a 2012 CLS with aluminum pedals and I noticed they have rubber grip in the drilled parts of the pedal. I kinda like this idea more. I don't have the pedals in my Max, but this thread did kind of make me consider. The rubber grip from the drilled holes is barely noticeable, but I guess if pedals get slick, it's a win win.

Aside from being slippery, aren't the pedal covers bad for the manual-trans Maximas? Because the brake and gas pedals are too close together?

I think it's a good thing... SE is sports trim so by having the brakes and gas pedal closer together you can pull of "sportier" moves
