Hi Friends,

I've been experiencing Misfire issues, but have continued to drive it because it wasn't too bad, until YESTERDAY. Now it seems the car is constantly misfiring. ALSO, the SES light was flashing yesterday---whereas "before it was constantly on."

I ordered a Oxy Sensor, but now i'm wondering if i should drive it at ALL ?

1. Any Danger to driving it while it misfires?
2. The SES light was flashing yesterday too---whereas before it was just constantly on.

A flashing SES means severe misfire. Time to stop driving it and actually fix the issue.

we had a guy at work drive a vehicle with a misfire, 2 weeks later the piston blew through the block onto the road. let that be your answer

A random mis-fire will turn on the check engine light. When the check engine light is blinking, that means that the mis-firing is becoming more severe and is happening at that moment.

you also haven't specified what your code is yet, believe it or not, your car well actually tell you what's wrong with it

technically the flashing CEL means severe catalytic converter damage is occurring

have you even scanned the car for codes yet?

His posts are misfiring maybe , fix it fast before it goes bye bye for good....coil probably toast IMO.

Coils are injectors are the likely culprits. The last time I fixed a Maxima for a friend with a flashing CEL, it turned out to be one bad injector.

op, once you find the cylinder missing, swap your coil with another cylinder on the same bank and see if the misfire travels with it

(sorry, posted under wrong thread. alot of pressure these days...this is cutting into my wallet and i got 2 little girls to feed).

As i mentioned (in this thread) LINK...i'm getting p0154 (oxy.sen.--bank 2), p1168 (closed loop vent) and p0300 (random misfire).

After SEEING the constant SES light, i pulled the car off the road (asap). Fortunately, i have a spare vehicle (Nissan PU). Am now waiting for the Oxy.Sen Part to arrive from Rock Parts.

NOTE: Started the car this morning and it still missing, BUT the "Flashing SES" light is GONE....and its once again SOLID. Never-the-less, after doing some research, i will not drive the car until this "misfire issue" is resolved.

HOPING that the oxy.sen will solve this misfire Issue. Keeping fingers crossed.

For those of you kind enough to submit constructive input...i say "Thank you!"

i would think that the misfire fouled your oxygen sensor and thats not the root cause. maybe a couple bad coilpacks? would be worth Ohming them out and seeing what you get
