Wind/road noise in our cars

I've had my I35 for about 3 yrs now and noticed the wind/road noise is quite prominent on the highway. My tires are relatively new and quiet. The wind rushes over the side mirrors and around the doors a good amount even on not-so-windy days. Is the door sealing and noise insulation just not a strong point in these cars?

Same here and I was surprised how much it helped. Reference this write up : http://www.shiftice.com/window_wind_noise.html

What did you guys use? I just did this last night and my drive to work this morning was louder than ever! I'm thinking I either used something to think/dense or I applied to much maybe?

I used this...

For a 13 year old car I would say noise level isn't to bad. Nissan as a whole doesn't have a great reputation for making quiet cars.

This is very interesting. The usual attack pattern for noise in cars is the doors, trunk, floor, or roof.

Another tip to keep road noise down is to buy omnidirectional tires that allow cross cross tire rotation. 5k miles of the tire rolling forward then 5k miles rolling backwards enables your tires to stay quiet as new for much longer.
