Driver Side Axle Woes...

Hey Team!

Just got done replacing my driver side cv on the 6 speed with a Duralast Gold "new" axle. On the first test drive; i have this rather odd clicking sound on turns/accelerating. Also, an odd sensation in the gas pedal that i can feel thru the feet. Not happy with it what so ever...what got me was the relatively low price ($ 70 with my discount and lifetime warranty

There are countless threads on the web of all car makes with autozone axle issues..going thru them till the issues resolve.. (poor build quality) ummmmm which i read into after "special ordering" it

What other axle brands can you suggest that are less prone to problems..??

Before the obvious answer of "raxles" comes into play...i will say that i just got off the phone with Marty at raxles only to find out they NO longer make nissan axles . wtf right, caught me by surprise...as i called for a price

The original only the outer (hub) boot was torn...I had thought about rebuilding it. But now its been tossed and trash is gone
help!

I have used Napa Auto Parts axles three times and they have all lasted without problems. I used the Napa brand new axle, not the re-manufactured one.

+1 for Napa Axles.Ive had mine for about 5 years so far and no issues yet. Boots are still holding their own. Cant recall if they were new or not.

Wow that's scary and kind of getting me worried since I am going to get the Duralast Gold for my Maxima, since I do not buy the Reman crap since I know they don't hold up long as the new one. Well since you got me thinking I probably gonna go with the Rockauto route with the APWI Axles. Yes I heard about the Raxles and they do not make them anymore.

^^ Thats few votes for Napa axles. I will give em a call to see what they have in stock/rpice

^Sorry to scare you about Duralast Gold. Iv used few other parts iv been satisfied with from autozone...just not this axle so far. The APWI isnt an option for me as its for an auto...I am considering their Empire 804677... I believe thats the same as EMPI...and empi is highly regarded in the axle world.

I used napa reman axles. When I was lowered ~1.5" they kept on going out every 6 months or so. They were great about giving me another without any hassle since I kept the receipts. I'm back at stock height now and they've lasted for a year so far without issue. I got pretty good at changing axles lol. If I did it again I'd go with any non-reman with a lifetime warranty.

^i imagine you kept getting replacements because it had a lifetime warranty afterall yes..
The autozone im having issues with is infact a new (non-reman) lifetime axle...I suppose i could just get used to changing them out?? much rather not.
and i have plans to go lower....just sucks there isnt any one as trusty as raxles around
