Red Bulbs or Red LEDs? (Aftermarket Taillights)
So I bought these taillights for my 5.5 http://www.ebay.com/itm/191545926141?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Not realizing that you legally need red on your taillight I think.
Now should I get a traditional bulb with a red housing? or just a real bright red LED?
Are either even good enough? I mean, I do have the spoiler taillight, that's still red.

Hmmmm, ok. I looked up laws and it says you need to emit a red light and another law said you need at least 2 reflectors on the rear. Didn't say any color just reflectors, So I think I'm good....right?

Tail lights and brake lights have to be red. When the lights are off there have to be reflectors. Red indicates the rear of the car, white indicates the front of the car. Unless it has changed.

Get some nice leds. I had similar tails for awhile and never had an issue with law enforcement.(related to the tailights at least )
As said above^ the red bulbs are garbage, they appear pink until they get too hot and the red coating fades until its gone and the bulbs are incandescent/white colored again.
Again. Dont cheap out, get expensive ones that preferably have the projector lens on them. They show up better in the daytime than the ones without--in my experiences at least.

Ok, looks like stock is 21w/5.
That's going to be an ultra bright brake light if a 20w l.e.d even exists.
You're going to want a red led or else there is going to be some washout and make the
light look more pink.
