Sticking e-brake

Anybody know anything about a sticking e-brake on 5th gen maximas?? When I pull up on the ebrake it's completely weightless for half of the clicks. I know it's the back right. I've fixed it by putting wd40 on the spring but it keeps coming back. Any ideas or tips

how are your brake pads? i once thought my cables were stuck because the ebrake seemed ineffective, but really my pads were very worn

My 03 auto has this issue. I replaced the rear calipers and brake pads. That wasn't the issue. Guessing it's something in the cable going to my passenger side rear. Noticed it keeping that one tight

its the cable, and common problem, you can clean it out and grease the ends exposed to weather and debris. thats the fix some have replaced but that seems excessive
