Seat Motor automatically moves forward... good times!

Here's a fun vaudeville act my car has been doing. It's only funny if there's someone else in the car.

I'll be driving along, and then suddenly the seat will start moving forward, all the way to the front stop.

The controls get a little ambiguous. Moving the switch forward makes it go forward, then so does moving the switch backwards... unless I brace my foot against the deadhead pedal and push, then the seat will roll backwards.

Of course this is a safety issue so what I need to do is get the seat where I need it and pull the fuse. in the meantime, has anyone ever taken apart the seat switch before? I've disassembled and cleaned window switches. I hope it's the same sort of dealy-o....

You can pop the button covers off using a flat head screwdriver. The panel pops off easily after that. See how the buttons move with the panel off.

May have short in wiring harness for power seat controls under drivers seat. On mine it just stopped working but If the right wires got connection, maybe it could cause the seat to move fowards on its own. My harness was cut by getting caught between moving parts under the seat.
