What kind of shape are your tires in? Bad tires can amplify the effects of torque steer

If you get the chance, inspect your motor mounts and tranny mount. under accell they can compress the rubber on the inside if there bad enough. that can cause torque steer. Also inspect your control arm bushings and all the bushings around them. You wouldnt believe how much an old worn bushing will shift around. Replacing those bushings with polyeurothane bushigs would greatly reduce torque steer, and if you enjoy launching from a stop or burnouts its also a plus because the suspension wont bind as bad as factory rubbers. i would drop the clutch in my older avenger and insteading of burning out it shudderd it self to death, i could feel the loose *** suspension.

That's the way they are made, but it is possible that the bulge is more than normal. You have to compare it to a new mount.

Another thing to check would be the lca bushings. Especially the right side because so many of these cars have leaking power steering hoses and the atf rots the bushings.

I had a similar issue, it went away after I replaced the tires and driver side tie rod ends.

Check the lower control arm bushings, had the same issue on my 00, and 02, control arms with ball joints and bushings fixed it.

Ultimately this is the best fix. Everything else is just a Bandaid on a bad design. Find an 04+ tranny with HLSD.

I can hammer in the rain with both tires struggling for traction and the car goes dead straight. Even when the tires are worn out. It never jerks to the side. I can even punch it in a turn and have it stick or create a controlled slide at will. No plowing.

Before the swap it would jerk to the right if I punched it in the rain or hit a puddle. Forget about punching it in a turn. It would just plow straight.

Overall acceleration and handling are so much better even in the dry. It really amazes me that they didn't put HLSD in all of the MT cars.

Absolutely. I can barely break traction in 1st with my 5.7 swap on half *** "all season" tires.
