rear caliper braken differences?

rear caliper bracket differences?
Weird question.
Are all 5gen rear brakes exactly the same?
No differences?
I had to reuse my old rear hardware because the ones I ordered and the
ones that came in the caliper kit were different.
Mine is an early 2000

The "new" one on top. It didn't even fit right. The tab needed to be bent to fit proper, but I just cleaned up the old one and put moly paste on it. Totally different.
You can see those springs kinda floats it right there in place.

The springs aren't necessary. If they **** me off, they get bent or cut off lol. I never use the new bracket things as they always seem to be made wrong (don't fit or don't allow the pad to fit).
I think the 01s are different and then 02-03 also. I remember a big, spring clip that goes across the pad on 01 to hold it back. I think 02-03 have the normal clip built into the pad.
