Weird sound

Hi i have a question about a noise . I'm in florida right now and i'm going back to my hometown nEw jersey and i'm afraid that something might go wrong on my way there this monday . in the afternoon .LIke i said before there's a noise in front of the car i'd like to say that it's near the left wheel well . it happens when i back up the car and then go forward it was this wirring sound . I'm afraid my car might break down in the way home (19 hours) And i think i'll go to the local dealership here in florida just in case. Hopefully it's nothing Hard to fix . ANY COMMENTS will be apreciated thanx.

If it has continental tires on the 17" rims, that is the culprit. We had my wife's car back numerous times where they took the tire off, put it back on, balanced it. Noise stops for a few weeks, then returns. The mechanic said it is definitely the continental tire not matching the rim very well. I have to believe it, cause it does stop for a while after they break the tire down.

When you are going back and forth apply the brakes to see if that alters the sound. Next jack the car up in the suspected area and turn the wheel by hand looking for anything unusual. Find a hill and let it coast in both directions and report back as well. Good luck!

Might be the ABS testing itself, it will happen each time you start the car and drive off. Its a distinct noise you can hear that lasts about 2 seconds also.

Probably ABS test. I thought something was wrong at first too.

If your stock it's under warranty. If it's like anything else it won't happen when you want it to.
