Nissan Navigation DVD 6.6

Just curious if anyone has the latest navi disc out. Any HUGE differences you notice from the previous versions?

i was always wondering...is there a way that we can use like a g37's navi disc on a 2005 maxima? is there a way to bypass it so it plays the g37 or 35 navi dvd?

NAVIGATION UPGRADE

I just received a notice in the mail for me to upgrade the navigation system in my 2007 maxima so I went and checked everything out because they were offering free shipping and I see the CD is $190.00 so free shipping is pretty ridiculous to offer when you are talking almost $200.00.

Eject the old Navigation DVD from the DVD drive located behind the lower stowage compartment just in front of the stick shift. There is a small cover that is removable inside that you have to pull out to see the DVD drive. Eject the old Map DVD, Insert the new and follow the onscreen instructions!!!

This question has been asked before and when the money math was all said and done it's easier to buy a pretty nice aftermarket system and I'm hoping other members will post pictures of their aftermarket systems which look pretty SWEET!!! Jsmith, show your sh*t!!!

http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...y-4-200-a.html Here is what I did since I didn't have stock Nav and didn't want to spend 2500 on a new system install. I like this setup because I don't need to ever purchase a new dvd or pay a fee for updates. This has been installed and working great for me for about 3 months now. I highly recommend this setup for anyone wanting Navigation for cheap and IMO better than stock. Advantages over stock Nav are:
1. can use while driving
2. can add any aux input.
3. can play the game it comes with while waiting in line at Mc D's.
4. can put movies on SD card if you want and or music.
5. can customize the Navigation screen look (ex. backgrounds and loading screen)
6. can add poi's and keep/get rid of ones you want/don't.
7. it's just simply amazing what this thing does.

All of these statements are only correct when you get rid of the P.O.S. software that the Plenio comes with and add OCN8. Any questions just ask.

LOL, The NAVI users manual states how, but if you don't have one open the compartment that is directly in front of the shift ****. There is a removable wall inside that you can pull out and you will see the DVD drive inside. The last part is the trickiest, Press the eject button!!!

lol thanks the 2007 maxima didn't come with a navigation manual but I found the 2008 manual and it had the instructions.. I had been fiddling with it for a while but didn't realize I needed a screwdriver to pop it off. Thanks

Yes "backup" copies work. I'm running the 6.7 (04 and 05) and I made a 7.4 (06 and 07 I believe) for another member; both of which have successfully worked.

The 6.7 will not run without the software upgrade from 6.4

As for what's different; new roads and POIs. Your interface will remain the same.

PM for details on striking a deal.

7.4 Nav help requested

I just installed my updated DVD 7.4 in my 2008 Maxima and I say where it was said once you install it (thanks to your help telling someone where) you should follow the on screen prompts? I didn't get any on screen prompts and all my old addresses are still in the system. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to do something different or what? I had version 7.3 and now updated to 7.4 by the way don't buy it from the dealer it cost me $100 more than the dvd maker charges. Help please.

Your kidding right

first of all the 7.4 upgrade costs a minimum of $250.00 and from dealers closer to $350.00. I am selling the 7.3 DVD from my 2008 Maxima that I replaced with the 7.4 and sorry even the 7.3 wouldnt sell for $20.

Is there even that big of a difference between 7.3 and 7.4? Is it really worth paying $250 for it?

I was kidding... i know its expensive... i just wanted to know if you were selling the 7.4 or 7.3. i have the 7.3.

and as for the difference on 7.3 and 7.4, its just that more locations are updated into the system. more streets, more destinations. There is a mall by my house that was just finished about 2-3 years ago and it is not on my 7.3, but im sure its on the 7.4.

Does the 7.4 version make the Nav a touch-screen? Now that would be a welcomed upgrade!

(for those that can't tell... I'm being sarcastic)
