Low Battery or Something Else?

Low Battery or Something Else?
Hey guys, wanted to run a couple things by you and see if you came up with the same conclusion I did.
I have an '07 Maxima, stock, 46k miles on it. I have only replaced the front brakes and all tires, nothing electrical/under the hood. In the past 1-2 weeks it feels like it's struggling to start and has gotten consistently harder to. It has always started on the first try but went from right away to 1 second to about 2 seconds tonight. The instrument panel lights get very dim when it's cranking and the headlights don't get fully bright until about 5 seconds after the engine's running. The crank is really really slow and eventually the engine turns over. Once everything's running, the car acts like nothing's ever wrong -- no dash lights, no performance hit, no electrical problems...JUST starting the engine.
It's getting harder to start every day, and I was convinced tonight we were going to get stranded on the town.
I remember PetitFrereMaxima telling me at the last Houston meetup that the stock batteries are notorious for going bad, and I think my battery's serial number was in the range he mentioned of being bad/faulty. (The battery in there now is the factory battery, made in second half of 2006, so 3.5 years old.)
Is this a dying battery or something else? The battery fluid levels are right on target and the connections are secure. Could the belts be loose and not fully charging the battery? Could it be the alternator or another part?
Any/all help is appreciated; thanks in advance!
