Need help with overhead dome light switch

The other day, the main rocker fell outta my 04 Elite's front dome cluster.
The problem is, apparently someone (no one will admit) who last touched the switch must've had it in the OFF position!
So now, the domes will not come on when the doors open or on remote unlock.. Which is the way I prefer.
Can any of you tell me how to possibly set the dome(s) to my preferred mode while I hunt down a new Rocker switch ?
So we're all on the same page; Below are pics showing what the gap (where rocker belongs) looks like.

I can help you install a new rocker (when I get mine), my issue is:

How to adjust/set the dome so that (in the meantime) we'll have light when we open the doors at night or before we open the doors (after we hit the remote) so the interior is brightly lit (I have LEDs in my overheads) so we can see the axe murderer hiding in the back seat

I mean all the knowledge on this board & no one will lend a hand here

MAP light switch replacment

Hey, I had that same broken switch in the off position for over a year in my 2004 Maxima. I thought I could just replace the switch but you can not! you must replace the whole MAP light assembly. The dealer wanted like $240 for it and I couldn't find on ebay or local junk yards but I ended up finding cheaper online at nissanwhoesaleparts.com but check out courtesyparts.com also for lower prices then dealer asks. check out link below where I posted a picture of my broken switch at the time.

There is a way to rewire the assembly so light stays either on or off, but never auto. The switch itself can not be replaced. You'd need to replace whole assembly, or rewire it. I honestly don't remember how exactly, I think you have splice white wire with black, but not sure. I believe there is a post about it somewhere on this forum. Good luck!

I would not try the wire cutting trick ( http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2012/08/2005-nissan-maxima-parktail-lights-do.html?m=1) just save up $200 and buy new MAP light assembley

You have to splice white wire with orange wire professor. Read previous post and follow that link, then thank all of us here who just saved you 200 or 300 bucks whatever that stupid overhead console assembly costs. AMEN!
