How do you change ABS Module 6gen
Good Afternoon maxima Family hope all is well, i have a 2005 max..and my abs module went bad on me it makes this weird noise while I'm driving and also when i turn my car off..so I'm assuming i have a bad abs module ...problem is that the module cost about 1000 so i dont mind buying it but i would like to install it myself, does anyone know how to swap out a abs module i tried looking online to see if i find anything but no luck...i would greatly appreciate it

just did it and pretty labor intensive... have to remove windshield wiper and shroud, drain and remove a/c lines low and high side then you have access to pump. I believe there is 6 or 7 lines going to it. its on passenger side fire wall. after replacing it need to bleed system. reinstall everything and recharge ac system...are you certain pump is bad? need a really good scan tool to check it ie. we used 6k snap on unit. many times its the right rear abs sensor that goes bad due to moisture/rust inside wheel bearing area... may want to try and clean/replace or just disconnect that sensor

I had same problem but it wasnt the abs thank god, it was the moisture/rust inside wheel bearing which needed a clean, the dealership did it for $300 bucks but now iive been fine since. but if its the abs module maybe try and buy one from the junkyard, people part those out quite often and sell them for like 250 bucks? good luck

Clarification
I replaced the abs module on my Max. The job isn't fun but is doable with a positive attitude. Wanted to clarify that you do NOT need to drain the AC lines. You can work around them. This job mostly sucks because you're turning the hose nuts with little clearance so you're spinning a nut 1/8 of a turn lots of times using an open end wrench. Second on the used ones. They seem to sell around $300 on eBay.
