Maxima Catching oil and a question.

Hi guys my Nissan Maxima 2004 started to burn oil a month ago, It consumes about 1 liter per 8000km. The Oil I'm currently using is some Lucas 5w30 Syntetic and I'm changing the oil every 8000km. I've heard about some people changing their oil for some valvoline 5w30 (not syntetic) and their engine stopped burning oil.

So my questions are :

Is it safe to change syntetic oil to some non syntetic oil ? since the car always runned on some syntetic 5w30.

Do you guys have any solutions to stop my 110 000 km engine to stop burning oil ?..

So that's it for the oil. My other question is if there's another way than taking off the front bumper to change the daytime bulbs ?.... I don't feel like disassembling the front bumper.

I'm new here, please be kind !
Thanks for some future help.
-Marc

Yes, you can switch from synth to non synth oil without any additional issues.
Are you burning or leaking oil? Smoke out of the exhaust = burning. Drops on the ground or smells = leaking.
You might try using a higher viscosity oil. A thicker oil will sometimes help this issue.

Hi, thanks for replying. My car is burning oil.

Update : I bought some High milleage Castrol GTX 10w30 part syntetic mix and I rode about 500km. The car seems to have stopped to burn oil. I will be sure when I will pass 3000km rolling on this oil and I will post an update.

My dad's 6th gen has 193k km on it and also started to burn oil. He was using some non-syntetic oil and I decided to use some Valvoline 5w30 instead of the ****ty quacker state he was using. He rolled about 2000km on this Valvoline oil and the car COMPLETELY stopped burning oil.

As I said I will post some more updates.
