Selling my 04 Maxima. How much??
I am currently selling my maxima. Not because I want to but because we need the money. I really love that car.
I need advice on how much it is actually worth. It has 193xxx miles and the motor is in great condition. It has the service engine light on. The transmission revolutions are too high and they said I needed to change a sensor or something. It just turned on about 3 weeks ago. It also needs the left side wheel bearing and ball joint and an alignment. My husband changed the rack and pinion about a year ago and didnt straighten out the steering wheel so its a little crooked to the left side. I posted it on craigslist for $3700 but people are only offering me about $2000.... Is that an ok price or could I get more for it?

What year? Assume auto, but cvt, 4sp, 5sp? Any thing else about that car?
I don't get when you mean transmission revolutions are too high.
But it isn't worth 3700 with that many miles and needing all the work.
Just looked on KBB, an 05 maxima with 193K in good condition is valued at $3100. So $2K is about all it might be worth IMO.

Its a 04 SE 6 speed and we hooked it up to the computer to see what code was turning on the service engine light and thats what the mechanic said. The revolutions were idling too high. A lot of the suspension has been replaced and it has new shocks and struts

If it is idling high, that isn't tranny issue, just a simple idle relearn should fix it.
Looking at KBB, an 04 in very good condition is $3200.
So needing ball joint and wheel bearing and alignment is around $200 if you replace the parts yourself. So looking at $500 off value.
But it is hard to sell a car with that many miles and with a check engine light on.
