2004 Nissan Maxima SE (Your Opinion?)
Hello, This is my first post.
So I purchased a 2004 Maxima SE in June 2015 with 165,00KMS (100,000 miles) despite all the bad reviews I had read about the car mostly because I didn't check until after I bought the car also I previously owned a 2005 Altima 2.5L and despite all the bad reviews about that car I ran it from 250,00KMS all the way to 330,000KMS in a few years without having any major issues except the power steering. Anyways back to my Maxima..
The car is in good condition and very clean and when I got it inspected they told me the rear axle recall was done.. I've driven the car about 3,000kms in the last 4 months.. I haven't really noticed any clunking in the transmission at all..
Anyways when I got the car inspected they told me everything looks good and the only things that needed to be done are the front struts and sway bar bushings .. this is going to cost me about $1,000.00
Based on what I've read I'm scared to spend that kind of money and have the transmission or any of the other major problems happen.
So what do you guys think? If this maxima has gotten to up this many KMS and the transmission seems fine do you think its a ticking time bomb or do you think I'm in the clear?
Basically I could sell the car as is.. Or do the work and keep the car I really like the car but I don't have crazy amounts of money to spend on repairs?
Also can anyone give me a list of things that may become an issue and I should specifically get checked out before doing any work..
thanks!

You can buy the Monroe strut kit that has both struts, strut bearings, boots and stuff on-line for $205.85 CN plus shipping. I can change a strut in my garage in an hour.
Sway bar bushings are $4 to $8 CN for the pair depending on brand and end links are $10 to $15 CN each (you need 2) depending on brand. Another hour of labor for these parts.
So you can buy the parts for $250 or less, plus shipping. Add 3 hours of labor and you can end up at around $500.
