Alright well its warm again and here I am, making a post about my air conditioning. Kinda at a loss for words over the last few years trying to get this a/c to work properly and still its not. It blows cool, but not cold cold, like normal air conditioning.

I have replaced everything in the system including the compressor. When I run a diagnosis on the climate control, it all checks out but its flashing a 26- code quickly, which is the PBR, potential balance resistor ($60 part from nissan) that I had already purchased, just havent installed. Its part of a circuit board that installs on the bottom of the system behind the dash.

Theres also the question of the expansion valve. When I put the new one in, I didnt put the clip back on it to hold the probe to the pipe for a true reading. Also I didnt put on the insilation peice onto the probe which may make a difference.

I really just dont know what to do from here on out. This has jsut been a few year shi* show

OMG Matt, I can't believe your still having A/C issues.

All you have left to do is to replace the PBR and if you still can, put those missing parts back on and put the probe clip or rig it somehow to get it against the tube.

What else is there at that point???

My questions is, do you think that the probe not insulated and clipped to the low pressure tube would effect performance this much ?!?! ANND when I get the diagnosis code 26- for the PBR, it only flashese once then goes away and flashes 25, all systems clear. Kinda wierd

I have no idea, but what options do you have left to try?

How's the car been running otherwise?

If its the sensing bulb (attached to the expansion valve), then yes putting the insulation around it will help. I am not familiar with a cooling system in a car but a traditional TXV will need the most accurate reading from that bulb. It tells the valve to let more or less refrigerant flow. Adding the insulation will improve the quality of the reading.

Hope that helps.

Ok...Theres also the question of the Oil I used in the compressor. Nissan said I can either use PAG100 or PAG46, but all the spread sheets said to use PAG46. I used to PAG100 as per Nissan. Would that make a difference.

Im gonna drop my car off monday and have the system evacuated then tear the exansion valve box out again.

Thanks guys
