Replace outer tie rod How to

yes yes, I searched and I searched, but no definitive step by step with pictures, I NEED PICTURES, or I am at the mercy of my shop.

My parts store informed it should take only 10 minutes if it isn't seized or warm up my blow torch.

Anyone have have something?

Thanks

great video. not sure I need tie rod separator, but will get one.

My 98 maxima has orginal tie rod. If seized have PB Blaster, but if stuck would a blow torch do the trick?

Rent the tie rod separator from Autozone. Blow Torch is kinda overkill just for an outer tie rod. Once you you hammer it in, it will come up with ease.

Parts Source asked what size of tie rod separator tool.

I am having a hell of a time loosening the bolt on the inner tie rod.

From the videos I gather counter-clockwise direction is with wrench going downwards that is facing the whole assembly.

Dont use a separator. Just remove the castle nutt and hit the steering knuckle, where the tie rod bolts to, with a BFH.

The distance between the two forks should be at least 22mm, or about 7/8".

did it all and w/o that tool. All I need is an alignment in the morning,

Can't believe my mechanic wanted to charge $80 to change it.

Another DIY job.

Thanks for the advice.
