Only if some rumers came True
Strolling threw some forums and came across this. Posted in the 7th gen forum because that is the so called car applies to. Probably would be in infinity line up if built but this would certainly be the ultimate maxima. You can out a big 4DSC in that car window I do hate rumors but I could not pass this one up.

Last Friday while in Las Vegas I was chatting with a couple guys from Japan at a blackjack table who were in the states doing some sight seeing and attendng the Moto GP race in Indy on Sunday. One of the guys works for Nismo/Nissan and we started talking about different cars. While talking about my car and various other cars he let out of the bag that Nissan is devolping an M3/M5, C63/E63, S6 killer awd Maxima. He stated it was going to have a 500-520 hp version of the GTR tt in it and that they already have test cars out strolling around the streets and on test tracks and if they get the green light the car could be available as soon as 2011 model year. He also stated that it will definetly come to the U.S. since the U.S. is the largest market for the Maxima.
Has anyone else heard or seen anything about this car?[/

That's one rumor floating around on the web but it may be somewhat true, just that it's not a Maxima, maybe the rebadged GTR Infiniti is suppose to eventually get but price will be higher then a spec-v GTR

I thought it was suposed to be a awd turbo diesel version but I believe they said it would only be availiable in Europe this seems more fitting with the hp specs he was talking about 500-520hp doesn't seem realistic for a gas engine in this car however the turbo diesel could definatly make those numbers far eaiser.

That would be weird to have a 5.0 liter in a Max, or a G or M sedan platform, but you would think they would just use there 5.6 liter engine to compete with the ISF ( the 350 is by far the best platform to work with for performance ) , no way the CVT tranny is going to used ( we would all hope ).

i live in Smyrna, TN, where most of your max's are made...in fact, just about all my neighbors work there. i am from where the new HQ in Franklin, TN is about 20 min from the Nissan plant.
i do know personally some people in the design dept and some in planning. i have been told by more than one, at this time Nissan is not contemplating anything but FWD in Nissans. maybe in another 5 years +, but not that this time.
Now infiniti, on the other hand is a different story....
