DROP-IN AIR FILTER???
I need to replace my Air Filter and I was going to buy a Nissan oem drop in filter but I thought I would get some opinions on other brands. I want to stick with the drop in but would consider Fram, K&N or another brand if it is reputable. Any thoughts???

Everything you ever wanted to know about air filters

Cliffs: stick with a good quality and you'll be fine. A drop-in performance filter isn't going to give you all that much.

If you live in a dusty area, the KN filter might actually be better for you as the "wet" filter would grab more dry dust. However, BE VERY darn careful if you go that route to NOT over oil it, I believe there were several reports of "too much" causes issues with some sensor.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Nissan filter either. Fram, on the other hand, I personally wouldn't touch. My father used to have a nice display at his auto parts store of about 25 cut in half oil filters and I specifically remember it being the absolute cheapest designed and made filter of the lot. That just kinda turned me away from the brand forever.

Yeah man, K&N all the way. Performance, maybe, but better gas mileage it definately gave me from a relatively clean OEM to K&N I noticed a huge gain. 2 in the city, 2-3 on the Highway. Car ran smoother at idle with a clean K&N too...
