Directional signal clicking sound
The directional signal clicking sound in my 2012 Maxima is barely audible. It was much louder in all my other cars. Went to the dealer yesterday and he said that on some cars it is very quite. When I asked him to change the relay he said it will cost me because it is not covered under warranty. Did anyone else experience this problem? Where is the relay located? How easy is it to replace? In other suggestions on what to do?

I am glad it is quiet and cannot understand why you would want the flasher relay to be louder. Go to autozone and see if they carry a flasher relay for your car. I am sure it would be much cheaper than the one the dealer sells.

I can understand wishing it was *slightly* louder. More than once I've been the dork who forgot to turn the blinker back off after turning. It is pretty quiet--more quiet than the other 3 cars that I drive sometimes.

The issue is that unlike other cars, when I play music I can't hear the flasher and forget to turn it off if it does not cancel after a slight turn. No big deal, just another quark with the Maxima that could be improved.

I've got a funny story about turn signals. I sell hearing aids. Usually when someone is looking into buying some, I allow a trial period since a lot of people are on the fence about it and resist buying them. I like to allow people to see what it's actually like before they have to drop thousands of dollars into a pair of hearing aids. One of the MAIN THINGS that people come back and tell me after first trying them is "I had no idea my turn signal made a sound!" A LOT of people with high frequency hearing loss can't hear the sound at all. I recently had a customer come back and tell me this, then his wife turned to him and said "We've been telling you for years when you need to turn your blinker off!" He spent $1,000 on a single hearing aid that he is only going to use while he's driving, just to avoid that embarrassing moment when you look down and realize your blinker's been on for the last 3 miles. lol!
