Ok, so I just purchased a 2011 Maxima SV last week and am not in love with all the chrome around the windows, trim, grill, etc. My plan is to plasti-dip the grill but what options do I have for the window trim and handles? My car color is deep blue and I'm thinking about going matte black unless anyone has any better suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Stay away from PlastiDip. Its such a cheap product IMO. You have a sweet ride, expensive too, and you spray it with garbage paint that is a PITA to clean up if you mess up. Take it from me and my f ups, powder coat or vinyl wrap.
See now it doesn't look bad on your car Snapper1978, with your car already being black. But in my personal opinion it seems to look like crap on any other vehicle color i've seen, unless you plan on using their glossifier
Mine has no glossifier at all, it depends if you take your time and do it correctly. My rims, trim, front grill AND back symbols are all done. IF you do it correctly and clean them they can turn out fine. But also I am having it all redone wrapped, so it is good for what you want if for. Mine has been on since the first of Jan and no peeling, no fading, and no problems at all.Just my opinion
EVERYONE I have talked to said you can not paint chrome trim and if you tried it will either turn colors or look horrible. Either wrap it or dip it. A guy on the facebook maxima site is selling pre cut wraps to fit out cars exactly, I think like 30-40 bucks too so not expensive.
I just Plasti Dipped mine yesterday and I was amazed at how easy it was. The only time consuming part was covering the car for overspray. Just go get some black plasti dip from walmart and some masking tape (blue kind). I attached some pics of how mine turned out and a step by step video on how to do this. Follow the instructions to the "T" and it will turn out great!

Wow, that looks really good! There's so much I didnt know was possible. The chrome trim was the only thing I hated, but didn't seen to stick out as much with the pearl color. I have a '13 the same color. Came here looking for possible answers to my problem. My two front windows recently rolled down by themselves during the recent cold snap. I was able to roll the drivers side back up yesterday and its stated up since while the passengers side wouldn't roll up until this morning. I couldn't get into any shops this weekend but was told by one person it sounded like an electrical issue. Hoping it won't be too costly.
