How many miles?

I had issues with the Climate Control Seat, steering wheel motors, a radiator fan motor issue and a piece of sunroof trim flying off within the first year or two. Same with the OEM battery. Let me see, well I guess everything wears out but under the last year or two I had to replace the alternator. I cut a boot on the right transaxle so replaced that too. I had a drivers side window switch break so replaced that as well. Most of the Michelins last 110,000 miles (would last longer but I live in FL and rains are common so I replace them at 4/32nds)
3 Windshields due to road damage.
Replaced the gas cap twice.
Most work I have done I have done preventively or because of damage from suicidal racoons/tire carcasses/debris etc. 3 Windshields due to road damage. I replaced brakes at 240,000 but the fronts still had over 50% left. Replaced the Belt and tensioner/pulleys because I thought 250,000 was a lot of miles on them. Noticed a bit of cracking (not bad but I was bored) on the rubber on the control arms (ball joints) when I would jack up the car to change the oil so replaced them around 270K along with the Struts at the same time (once again, preventively) but did notice the steering firmed up quite a bit! Struts didn't make any difference to the ride but was a fun project. Plugs at 100,000 and again at 225,000 (still looked great so will do at 375,000 next time)
I did notice a bit of "seepage" around the power steering pump a few weeks ago when I changed the oil but none is making it to the ground yet so I may make that a project soon. I also need to change the center console lid soon as the leather is cracking from my elbow being there all the time!
Sounds like a lot but in reality, just a bit of preventive maintenance for the most part over these years!

Just do a quick search on it in this forum (sorry but I am a bit tied up at the moment) but it is located on the drivers side, under the splash shield on the wheel well. It is an IN LINE filter sometimes referred to in the parts manuals as Transmission Oil Filter.

I figure 500,000 miles is a good goal and with the reliability so far, most likely obtainable! As long as she takes care of me, I will take care of her!

Keep your foot out of it, change the fluid every 60k and your CVT should last a good while. I don't think I have every gone more that 50% throttle but for when I first got her and learned what she could and could not do. I am not saying you have to drive like a "blue hair" but you certainly don't have to be the first to get to the next traffic light either! Throttle off can be just as an effective mechanism to deal with traffic as WOT!!!! My father called it "traffic management" (except he used a lot of dirty words to express his opinion of most drivers of 4 wheeled vehicles not respecting the limits of an 18 wheeler when talking of traffic management!) I can still feel the sting of roughly calloused hands against the side of my head when I would accelerate too fast, too slow, shift using a clutch (except for 1st/Reverse) and braking over tracks, too fast, too slow or impeding others!

When you change out the cvt is it just a drain and refill with the 5-6 quarts? It's obnoxious to try to find a real answer. Some places say 13 quarts. Advance auto parts says it calls for 10 quarts. Seems like a lot but the diy jobs I've read on here say 5-6 quarts. What say you??
