2014 Maxima Rear Door 6 1/2 speakers

So I've already replaced the stock front door 6x9 speakers with some Pioneers, and I decided to replace the rear door 6 1/2 speakers. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I needed some adapters until after I took the door panel off. So, I had to put everything back together and then got on the chat line with Crutchfield who gave me a link for an adapter.

Impatience got the better of me, so I decided to go to best buy since their website said they had adapters in stock at my local store. They did, but I'm almost certain the "non install guy" gave me the wrong type of adapters even after I asked if "are you're sure this will fit?" The package says Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep on it, and I saw that before I left the store, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Of course, they didn't match up exactly; meaning only 2 of the 3 speaker adapter holes lined up with the door. You should see this with the pictures I've uploaded.

I thought long and hard and even began to drill a third hole in my door because I feared the speakers rattling, but my wife stopped me and said "hey why the hell are you doing that?"

I realized she probably stopped me from using my ***** instead of my head for thinking (but hey we all use our ***** most of the time in the Navy) and I'd figured I would see how it works since the 2 nuts (pardon the pun) were holding just fine. I've personally always wanted 3 nuts instead of 2, but never admitted it before today. Let's move on.

I put the panel back on, but it's a real ***** to keep the door panel from dragging and taking off the adhesive on the plastic door covering inside the door, so I used a plastic trash can to stand it on while I sat in the back seat and removed the bolts.

A) The first thing is to put off the plastic cover behind the door handle.
B) Pull up on the arm rest to remove it, and then disconnect the window control from the harness.
C)There are two more bolts (I've worn the nuts part out by now) and then you can pull on the side of the door panel near the door hinge. There's actually a place near there were the panel is offset from the door for ease of pulling the panel. I would use your hand here and not a flat head screwdriver.
D) You'll have to pull out the stock speaker wire harness and then cut off the plastic harness, and strip the wires to connect the aftermarket speakers. I used (Home depot) plastic wiring nuts to connect the speaker wires, but I'm assuming electric tape or rubber speaker wire connectors could work just fine.
E) I really don't like how the Kicker speakers have literally no directions, while the 6x9 Pioneer's had a few pictures on the box that gives a little more insight on what to do. I'm assuming Kicker is expecting every buyer to be install expert, but that's a hell of an assumption in my humble opinion.

So far the speakers are intact and don't rattle, but I have yet to hook up an Amp. I'm still trying to figure out how to replace that amber screen and put in my Nexus 7 and extend the temperature controls under the radio, but I'm thinking that will have to wait for another weekend.

I really want to upgrade the car battery before I put in an Amp. Something about Nissan's stock battery doesn't impress me, but that could just be paranoia.

I hope this helps some people. If the speakers start to rattle, I think I will just break down and order some adapters from either Amazon or Crutchfield. But I haven't come to that point yet. I'm just really glad I stopped short of drilling holes in my doors.
