7th Gen AC and other things to consider...

Greetings!

I've had a 5th Gen Maxima for the past 8 years and I'm starting to look at what I'll replace it with. I've started looking around at 7th Gen Maximas but before I get too serious I wanted to ask all you 7th Gen owners about the following...
  • How is the AC? The AC in 5th Gens is notorious for being bad. I'm close to Sacramento where it gets pretty hot in the summertime and I need an AC system what will work.
  • Did you have any reservations about the CVT? If so, what convinced you otherwise?
  • Are there any common points of failure to consider?

Thanks in advance for any input!

We are on our 4th Maxima, a 92, 03, have a 12 & 14. These cars are great and I have never had AC issues on any of mine at least. As for the CVT, I had reservations at first but not any longer. No issues. I think and suggest you buy a 12-14 Max as by then most of the bugs have been worked out.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at 2013 and 2014 models. I drove a 2013 yesterday, first 7th gen I've driven and I liked it a lot. My wife and I used to have a 2011 Altima with the CVT but I think the Maxima platform with the V6 makes the CVT a lot less of an issue.
