4DSC Sticker
#44
The fact the 4DSC sticker on the '09 is a tiny cheapo thingie put ONLY on the drivers side, and mounted loosely on the OUTSIDE of the left rear window tells me Nissan did not intend for this sticker to stay on the car very long. And it won't. I look at this sticker as nothing more than a little sales gimmick.

I know they're installed at the plant, i was merely suggesting that some of the stickers that came out with the first batches (at least at the local dealerships i went to) were installed by the dealership.

Our current stock is 819XXX to 824XXX and have stickers on the LH side only- The only cars I saw with two were early cars below 805XXX, and some of them had no stickers at all! The "build sheet" from the accessory prep center at Smyrna definitely shows 1 per car.

Thanks DAVEB. That is a rather strange situation, but certainly fits with what we have had reported here, especially the part about some early '09 Maximas having no 4DSC sticker; I saw two of those on one of my dealer's lots.

Mine has the one sticker (Sport + Tech) and Vin 835486. I never noticed that it was on the outside but now am glad that it is as I was going to tint the windows and didnt want to cover over the sticker.

Yes, I am one who didn't really care whether this decal was there or not. This detail is noticed mostly in the driver's mind.
On the other hand, what goes on in the driver's mind is a lot more important to a Maxima driver than it is to an 'Eon' driver, or a 'Cobalt' driver, or a 'Civic' driver. A Maxima is far, far more than just 'transportation'. With a Maxima driver, small details are often very important.

Hahaha, early models had them on the outside. Probably smart since after a washing or 2, and/or using windex on your windows, the ink on those stickers smeared right off.
I actually pulled mine off and tossed it away, and used the guy here on the .org that sells die cut stickers. I ordered 2, external. That way I had a matching one on each side and can easily razor it off if I get bored with it.
Doesn't make my car any sportier or go faster tho. Maybe I should have got them in ricerboy yellow? LOL

yeah, they were supposed to be on one per car, but because of some people(im included) not all cars got their stickers. LOL

I've never sat in Lamborgini, but have sat in a Maserati, a Bentley, and several Ferraris (I lived very near a Ferrari dealership until 1988). I never drove any of them. In fact, I don't remember if I could even see the hood from the driver's seat of any of those vehicles. I do remember enough to say the seating of my '09 Maxima is more comfortable than the seating of the Maserati and the Ferraris. Of course seating was not the first order of business when those vehicles were designed.
Also, it was over twenty years ago I sat in those cars. I might as well be comparing the seating of my Maxima to that of a Cord or Terraplane or Pierce-Arrow, all of which I sat in in the 1930s.
Back to the Maxima's hood; I love the look, but still have trouble knowing exactly where the sides of the front fenders are when maneuvering through tight spaces, such as the underground parking lot at the hotel in which my wife and I stayed this past week. Twice I had her get out and use hand signals to let me know if I was going to scrape something.

I was thinking just maybe some of the dealers are pulling them off when they prep them up for the car lot. Not knowing they are just pulling off all stickers and protective coverings. Just maybe?????? Different guys in the back pull them while others leave them on?????

Perhaps the staff accidently removed the exterior sticker during the car prep. Judging by what people have said, the exterior stickers seem easy enough to remove/fall off.. so this is a possibility.

There was some mentioning of certain earlier manufactured 09's having the sticker on the outside and in some cases not at all.

That is how I remember this also.

Sorry for bumping this 5 month old thread... but you 7th Gen guys are the place to go, and this is the right thread for this discussion.
Below is the 4DSC inside-window decal on the driver-side rear-door for the 2010 Maxima.
Has anyone here figured out how to acquire this sticker yet? The dealerships can't find the decal in Nissan's Parts System, and that's as far as they will go to locate it.

Thanks, man. Sometimes to see, you have to suffer the fool. And suddenly, my whole outlook has changed!
My God, I can see again!

luckyy, some dealers put the stickers on themselves, i guess you are the very few lucky ones that got two
