Racingline FSTB installation

I just received my fstb in the mail today. So I approach the installation like any other standard bar. I loosen the top 3 bolts and the assembly shifted on me and I couldn't even see the holes to bolt the bar down. Tried to do the other side and it did the same thing. I ended up having to take both wheels off and push the assembly down to line the bolts back up.

Those with the fstb how did you go about installing it?

Was your car on a flat surface when you did it? I know any kind of body movement can cause the holes to misalign.

Yea I realized that when I got the bolts off that I was kinda at a slant and that just messed everything up. But it didnt seem like the mounting plates were sitting flush at all though, seems like when one side of the mounting play was pressed down on a bolt, the other side would be lifted up...idk I have to mess with it again one of these days.

When I installed mine, it took me damn near an hour to get the passenger side lined up enough for the bolts to go in. The holes didn't move, as I had the car on a level surface, but for some reason you have really torque down on the brace to get the third hole to line up, as the mounting surface in the engine is not flat. The driver side went in perfect, but don't think you have to drill out the slots in the STB mount, it just takes a little muscle and patience to get it in.
