you can get 14.4-14.5 for stock 7thGen

Yeah that's about the average I've seen from multiple tests. Probably get about 10-15 passes down the track for my baseline. Going to take the info to Altered Atmosphere Motorsports in Maryland to see what custom parts they can fabricate for me and drop those E/T's

yea for best 60 ft times, lower your psi and see what works best for you

Good luck and let us know your times

After yet another episode on the highway with a stock 2007 altima 2.5s walikng me from 80-120mph I will be going to E-Town "Englishtown Raceway Park" tonight with the bracket car and have the wife bring the Maxima to see what this slug is doing.

I know a CVT car is no good from a roll and falls off quickly on top end.So I will see how it does from a stop. Then bolt up my Y-Pipe and Borla, and a Intake and see if there is a real difference.

Man whats up with your car if another 2.5S Altima beat you from 80 to 120 . Was it a manual 2.5 Alti (still shouldn't have a problem with it) because if it was the CVT one...you think the CVT Max drops off in power up top there try one of those (sluggg)!

Here is my results and findings:
this is the same track 1sik4dsc went to.I had my own lane and unlimited runs all night as I know everyone there and they take care of me.So I tried a few things to compare.

Car: 2010 maxima premium/tech with sport 19" wheels.Everything stock.
Race Weight: 3680+200 for the driver driver.
Tire pressure: 20PSI in fronts "COLD"/50PSI in rears "COLD".

PASS 1-5: I didnt touch anything and left it in D and foot braked it at 2400-2600 RPM's each time.Almost no tire spin at all everytime.
14.3@97.83MPH best/ 14.3@97.44MPH worst\

PASS 6-10: Now I removed the stock air filter and closed the airbox back up.This way to see if more air intake would help at all.It should allow the least amout of restriction from the whole intake plumbing.Well it didnt ,it made it worse and it BOGGED out the hole everytime. 14.4@97.11-14.6@97.02MPH.

I can attach the time sheets if needed.I have the scale weight written on them too.I will update this shortly.

My final thoughts are that if you do a full intake and exhaust you will need a programmer to optimize it.otherwise it just wont help.I have a friend who will work with me to see what needs to be done in detail to the stock ECU in regards of a reflash/Unichip or a OBD programmer to fine tune it.

I keep hearing that brake torquing a launch at 1200 is best for these cars with the tire pressure at 22 psi all the way around. As far as whoever is getting walked by a stock 2.5 Altima then that is pretty sad for our cars, I've never been in a 3.5 that has gotten even remotely close to being bested at any speed by a 2.5.

You might wanna get your car checked if you continue to get dusted by a smaller engine, sounds like something is amiss.

If he is running that bullydog/Y-pipe/closed stock air box/lowered,then I think his numbers match up well.I thought he was claining out of the boxtimes. My fault for not reading thorough enough.

bk2k3max: as you can see my track results net great times.20psi in tires and a 2400 rpm's launch worked best for me.Anything higher in launch rpm's the car trips a safety and makes it bog back down in rpm's when launched.
As far as being walked on the highway it has to due with drag and the CVT.From a stop I am able to smoke thos 2 cars that walked me on the highway.I hope this sums up any other questions at hand?I just put my Y-pipe in so if I can get to E-town this wed.I will see if there is any better results. The swap meet is this weekend so this day is my only shot.Next is my Borla exhaust results as I just noticed it has now been shipped finally.

^ sure thing^

I hope the borla will add some sound as the Y-Pipe just didnt do anything for my ears at least. And at worst case I will staight pipe that mid pipe resinator that borla kept in place like stock.

Ive tries that and thats where my worse 60ft times came....Best thing that worked for me was NOT brake torquing the car at all

I just back from the track my best time was 9.625 in the 1/8, my reaction time was horrible though, 0.403. It was 83F with about 60% humidity.

I'll try to post the slips tomorrow.

Juggernaut, he never claimed out of the box times, he has mods and has listed them but besides him there is a Red 6TH Gen Maxima running 13's without the bottle too and that one is a CVT. I think his thread was something like first CVT in the 13's or first 6TH Gen in the 13s.

^I know,I said I read it wrong after I made that comment.I apologize.

On another note I will return to the track now my Y-Pipe is on and see what that mod nets. And then right after that I will go back again since my full Borla is now at my shop waiting for me to put on.

Is there a common thread for ALL 7th Gens only to post the timeslips and mods so we can all gather data and know what mod shows best results and who has the fastest 7th Gen,ETC?
It would be nice to know who ran what and with what mods.Or maybe a STICKY?

^^Yes, I knew you had already apologized but I was restating it for someone who may just come along and start reading somewhere in between.

Can you provide a sound clip after you put your Borla on??

As far as a common thread for all 7th Gens then there isn't actually one just for us but there is a universal one for all Maximas under the Discussions link for Timeslips.
Maybe they could do a Sticky just for the 7th Gens on our page.

7thGen stock times are more 14.4-14.6 @ ~97 mph

slip: (far right "0636" was my best, but have seen slightly better) http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q.../IMG_6387_.jpg
the air temp was 95 degrees. started from idle

Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but does the Bullydog do the same things on the Maximas that it does for the Titans? Like WOT restriction removal, etc? This thing turned my Titan into a beast when I was running it.

I had a nissan factory mech tell me that the 2010's were faster in D than the sport shift mode :/ this is weird but i think he might be right

yes, he is correct. Also been verified in multiple video reviews on YouTube.

I suspect that if you start in Ds and just at the first shift pt, you flop it over to D, it may be a hair quicker

Well I'm heading back to the track this Friday up at MIR for an open test and tune class. Weather will be low 60's, low humidity and the track is only 80 feet above sea level.

Hoping that with the cool, dense air that I can get a better baseline on my passes on Friday. Got almost 10K on the odo now and a fresh oil change. Ready to tear up the 1/4 mile and get my baseline 1/4 mile times and traps before I start the performance mods.

Wish me luck!

Kevin007 (RIP) had a 2007 CVT Max and his technique was to start in D and about 70-75 slide it into DS mode. The cars hit a wall around 92 and he thought the DS mode pulled harder above 75 or so. His was the first stock CVT below 14.

If pure drag performance is the goal, switching to light weight 17 front wheels with a smaller tire like 205x40 makes a huge difference on a simulator since the final drive ratio is raised numerically by the shorter tires and the lighter weight of the wheels and tires let them spin up faster.

IF you can pull 310 crank hp with bolt-ons the Max can do 13.6 at 103 plus set up this way. The simulator is an old DOS version of CarTest 4.5 which works ok with Windows XP but is a pain with Vista. My OS had to be reinstalled and I lost the program. It is an absolute blast to tinker with and has been dead on accurate if the input is accurate.

I raced some of my cars in my youth and found the program results to be very accurate when simulating those cars. It is freeware and a google search will locate it. There is a Windows version that is not free and it is more detailed than the old one. You can run a demo of that one from the author's website.

So what you're saying is that your FWD car has so much power screaming out of it that it fishtails at 40+ mph? Please explain how a FWD car fishtails first off. Secondly...I'd hate to see what you'd do in a RWD car with equal HP. My guess is that it would be wrecked within 45 feet.

He's probably talking about "tramlining" - the torque steer causing the car to move left and right.

Yea tramling is what I meant, maybe it was the uneven road. When you have 290hp being routed through the front wheels, you should expect this when you just mash the pedal.

Okay... went to Maryland Int'l Raceway yesterday for an open test and tune session.

Weather: high 50's to low 60's, low humidity, light breeze.
Track: 80ft above sea level

Did about 25 passes throughout the day. Bear in mind that my car is BONE STOCK with 10,000 miles. Only a drop-in K&N filter.

Slowest time was a 14.318 @ 99.08 mph.
Fastest time was a 13.932 @ 100.45!!!!!!!!

I'm prepared for you all to call BS on this, but here's a link to view both my car, and the time with my car in the background: http://picasaweb.google.com/M4a1Must...October222010#

My car was consistently hitting 14.1's all day, with one 14.00 and one 13.99. 1sik4dsc is right, leaving this car in regular "D" mode is definitely the quickest. Ds and manual mode made my car a few ticks slower. The 13.93 run was helped by a 2.200 60ft time (tire pressure at 34 psi).

Just wanted to share the news with everyone here that I firmly believe I have one of the quickest stock 7th gens out there!

Well tried a few different methods. VDC on/off, brake torquing, etc. Found that leaving VDC on and brake torque to 1,500 RPMs gave the best 60ft times. Dropped the tire psi to 28 which caused me to bog out of the hole, so I raised the psi back up to 35.

Honestly I was hoping to run 14's bone stock, but I was impressed this thing dipped into the 13's!

congrats dude on getting into the 13s too! These cars have the potential

That's great and what a beautiful color, out here that color is rare...

Im real happy that u and 1sik4dsc managed to get this car into the 13s range and Im also suprised that times were better with VDC on. This just goes to show, that with a good driver these things can do damage, lets hand a 7 gen over to The Stig!

Thanks man, wish I there was video to capture my reaction when I picked up the timeslip on that run hahaha.

@MaxLoverAz: Thanks, much appreciated! There's a few other Navy Metallic 7th gens in my area, but it's definitely a color you don't see too often. One of the reasons why I got it!

Well, my track conditions were ideal. I know 1sik4dsc probably didnt have the cool intake temps and low sea level conditions that I had!

Hopefully when I bolt on the Borla CBE, that'll put me in the high 13's consistently. I scared the hell out of everyone watching yesterday... "dude, after the 60ft mark you never shifted... at all!" LMFAO!

I think the VDC helped because it only allowed a quick chirp out of the beams, then it just dug in and took off. I'm not The Stig by any means, but I know my way around the 1/4 mile

Some say his left nipple is shaped like the Nurburgring, and that he sleeps inside-out. All we know is, he's not called GM_Traitor
