anyone else have over 100,000 miles on their 2009+ maxima ?

I've done the routine oil changes every 3000 to 5000 miles. Flushed the tranny fluid at 50k miles. I just drained and filled the tranny fluid at 98,000 miles and flushed the radiator coolant.

at about 103,000 miles I will be changing out the spark plugs. I'm hoping to get another 50K trouble free miles.

I am just a few hundred shy of 250,000miles on my 09. With the exception of fan replacement and cooled seat issues, this has indeed been one of my most trouble free rides I have had in over 40 years. Of course this doesn't include externally influenced items such as windshields, rear window or suicidal raccoons! I am seriously debating whither to try for "500k" or 8th gen. Right now we are very comfortable together

This is good news! it will be a long time before I make such a post with my 2013 SV, but it's nice to know you have achieved this milestone without too much effort.

I'm at 110k on my 09. I do a CVT flush every 40k.
The only major problem was the ABS control module that died, but replaced under warranty.

My memory seat function no longer works. It will stay programmed as long as the car is on, but once turned off and restarted, it forgets and goes to a random position of seat up and wheel down.

Everything else is still working.
I drive ~45k miles a year, so mine will add up quickly.
I purchased 40k miles under 2 years ago.

Bought mine in May and still don't even have 2000 miles. Wondering if the dealer will give me the free oil change after 4 months even though I don't have the 3000 miles. I live only 5 miles from work and have a Subaru Legacy that I use for fishing and transporting anything dirty or smelly. I long for long road trips to enjoy my new ride. Last year drove all the way to Vegas with my 97 5sp Maxima.. but I can't do this again.

Approaching 120k. The only issues were the driver heated/cooled seat switch thing, and currently the drivers door actuator (have the part just cant figure out ho to do it). Otherwise a rock solid car that will hopefully last me through my alimony payments . About to do the CVT trans oil drain flush and have been doing Mobile 1 every 10,000.

Things don't always go so well. My Maxima is in the shop right now.

A month ago, they replaced the engine main bearing and the transmission. About $6000 of work (to go with the other $4000 of unscheduled maintenance the car has over four years; replaced a seat, a mirror, visor, two engine mounts, door lock actuator, interior sound baffling, and so on; probably 25 problems total).

As of two days ago, they're replacing the transmission again. I'm on a first name basis with the lady who runs the rental department. I think the car is lovely when it works, but when the extended warranty ends, I'm dropping it immediately. It has 40K miles. 2010 model.

Wow alexdi, those are some major issues. I just went over 71k in my 2010 and the only things to go wrong so far are the drivers seat motor and the ipod connection. Currently when my mirrors flip down in reverse they don't return to their original position and I have to either turn that feature off or remember to adjust them again.

Oh, I know. I feel like a **** every time I go in for service. "Hey, I need an oil change, and can you tell me why it's squealing above 2000 RPM?" I actually feel sorry that my particular vehicle is such crap. You'd laugh if I listed everything in the service file; it's an inch thick. Every single oil change, I've brought up at least two unrelated problems, and usually more like five (that eventually get resolved over multiple visits when they become so obvious the mechanics can't ignore them).

Its unnerving to hear of a Maxima with that many problems, (at least to me it is). This is my 4th Nissan and 3rd Maxima. I actually sold my 2010 Super Black Murano LE to get back into a Maxima. I hope you don't lose too much when you decide to trade or sell it down the road. When this car hits 130k I'll give it to my son and get the Infiniti I've always wanted.

I don't think I'll lose anything. The car is basically a tomb now, since I had them chase down all the squeaks and rattles. I can point at the file and say "Everything that could break, did. Now it all works." I'm happy (of course) because the new transmission is functional and the car is so much better to drive than the Rogue.

I sold my 2010 after only 6 months of owning it. Im not going to get into details as to why I sold it, cause I'll probably get bashed. But let's just say Nissan and the Maxima in particular isn't what they use to be. I went ahead and traded it in for 2015 Mazda6 and I couldn't be happier. Maybe in 4 years I'll take a look at the 8th Gen.

What type of oil change are you guys doing? Full synthetic and every 5000 miles? Synthetic blend every 5000 miles? Conventional every 3750 miles? Interested to see which one most people are using and are getting 100k+ miles on their Max's.

I take mine to the dealer every 3750 so it's what ever Nissan puts in it. They do it less than 30 minutes and check everything out all for $24.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic every 5,000 miles. I'm almost at 71,000 on my Max

Blow away? Is that all one could say when comparing cars? I'm sorry but I out grew that, I'm no longer into "blowing away" people. There's more to a car then speed, but I guess living in the ghetto trashy area like the Bronx you wouldn't know that.

Just my 2 cents. Idk what standard oil comes in our cars from the dealer, but I changed it out before 500 miles with a synthetic. Changed the oil again at 3k to a conventional, and I noticed a change in reaction time in regards to starting from 0. DO believe I'll be going back to a synthetic this next change.

just crossed that 100K too...
need to do the tranny flush and spark plugs...
10K Oil changes with Synthetic oil....runs smooth and without any problems...
the key issues were the Steering wheel lock module, and recent central lock module( which had a glitch? hasnt malfunctioned since it got reset)...
oh eah and the cheap oem wheels...that got bent over time and havent been replaced...such a hassle

I change the oil every 7500 miles with full synthetic in my drive way, I have had the spark plugs replaced about @ 120K. She runs great. Drive about 80 miles a day at 78mph and get around 23mpg. Had the dealer say the transmission fluid looked fine. New breaks about 7K ago.

Only problems Ive had - tilt/telescope broke, rear door locks are sticky (sometimes they unlock some times they don't, some times they lock, sometimes they don't) There is a weird popping sound on the front strut when its wet. Dealer can't find anything wrong with it. Shocks are about shot. (office is off a gravel drive way with pot holes)

Only thing I wish is that it would get better MPG but when you use the on ramps correctly, its nice to get up to speed right quick. And.. wish it had more passenger room. Its kinda cramped in the back seat... from what Ive heard...

At 114k, and just picked up some sort of rattle coming from a trim piece somewhere. Haven't had time to figure it out, and it only happened within the last couple days.

Wow, congratulations and glad to hear it!
I traded in a 5th generation at 185K and it was still going strong.
Hopefully, with faithful maintenance, we will all have similar results.

Congrats to all on your high mileage. I'm well on my way as well. 45k on my 2011. averaging about 22k hwy miles per year.

What's the general consensus about CVT service? It seems to vary depending on who you talk to or what thread you read. I was under the impression that there wasn't necessarily an "interval" for changing fluid.

I've also have heard of dealerships running a test on fluid to determine the life. Depending on driving habits, you may never reach the level of needing a service, implying it could go without service the entire life of the vehicle - not sure the validity of this claim.

Are you folks just doing it for peace of mind?

I do it every 30k for peace of mind. $150 once a year is worth it to me.

Just recently hit 110K miles on my 2009. Only issue that I've had was with the steering wheel "entry/exit" function where it makes the grinding sound. The warranty had already expired so I didn't bother to get it fixed. I just turned that feature off.

I haven't replaced the plugs yet and I'm not sure if I will since the car runs just as good as when I first bought it. I did not know that the intake manifold has to be removed to change the plugs either. A spark plug change is pretty straightforward on my 1998 Maxima (which is closing in on 220K miles....but she has a rear main seal leak )

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic oil and Mobil 1 oil filter for a few years when I change the oil at 5K mile intervals.

I am very satisfied with the car and haven't had any regrets about it!

2010 3.5SV with 127,000 miles. Love the car. Very basic maintenance...

Oil changes with synthetic oil every 10-15K miles. Transmission fluid changed at 45K, 75K and 110K miles. Spark plugs also at 110K. Original front brakes, still. Even got the pesky bad #1 main bearing, too. Still going strong. Has been a great car with no issues, so far.

Only 47K on my '09. Low mileage because we split our mileage between the Maxima and my wife's trucks. So far no problems. I have the premium and tech packages, which add many features that could go wrong. But everything works.

Still running OEM brakes with no hint of vibration and 50% of pads left. Replaced the tires at 46K. The OEM RS-As still had probably 10K miles left, but I like lots of tread for driving on wet freeways. Most troublefree car I have ever owned, and I have been driving since the 1940s (yes, that makes me rather old).

The dealer service department does have a test that tells them whether the CVT fluid needs changing. Under normal driving conditions, the CVT fluid should not need changing before 60K miles. Even if I did the test at 60K, and the fluid was still good, I would probably change anyway at that point.

Those driving on dirt roads, driving in mountainous areas, pulling a trailer, living in a hot desert area, etc, etc, should probably be having the CVT fluid tested every 20K miles. With normal driving, I would begin testing around 45K miles. **** drivers should probably begin testing around 30K miles.

Are those of you doing 10k-15k on Mobil 1 doing UOA? I'd be very curious to see those numbers.

I currently have 66k on my 10 Maxima SV. My out of pocket expenses have only been a fuel system cleaning (47k) and my front driver's side wheel bearing (57k). BUT, I have needed all my fuels injectors replaced, and a new intake manifold all covered under warranty (47k). Also, the driver seat rarely moves forward when requested. It has no problems moving back though. Since I drive my car 99% of the time, I am not going to get that fixed. So far though, I still love my car.

Rear main seals seems to be a problem on 4th to 7th gen Maximas after certain mileage, is it worth fixing heck no..... I know of several Maxima's from 4th to 7th gen that were diagnosed with that and have gone on another 50 to 100k without issue, the cost to repair that is just waaaay to expensive!

Trauma? I think you mean drama. Most of us are having little to no issues. Don't let that thread get you worked up. 55k on my '11, not an issue to speak of. Planning on making it to 100k and I have a gut feeling I'll still be problem-free at that point. After reaching 100k it'll be time to upgrade, but so far this car has been perfect.

Glad to hear so many reports of higher mileage Maximas with few (if any) problems.
One of the reasons that I love other car enthusiasts is that you would never know that their cars had over 100,000 miles on them by looking at them.
Nothing beats a car that has been cared for like a baby!
