How much did you pay? *new car shopper*

Chicago area. Got a 2016 Maxima Platinum yesterday night. Coulis Red exterior, Charcoal interior.
Window sticker: 41,095 including destination charges. Negotiated price 33,000. Turned out it had 600 miles on it. Couldn't get more than $100 off, because I really wanted that color and they could see that. Stocks are getting low, so I agreed. So net 32,900 + the usual. Did price research on trucar.com, but ended up buying in a dealership not initially sent to me by trucar because of color availability issues. Really wanted Coulis Red exterior, Charcoal interior, so there is a price to be paid for that.
Couldn't be happier. She's a beauty

Thought I'd chime in since I didn't see too many Lease #s
Leased around the end of July 2016 in Long Island, NY
2016 Maxima SR (Interior/Exterior Lighting Package)
MSRP $39,500 / Residual $20,540 aka 52%
$0 Down, $1500 TTL, $375/month
Was aiming/hoping for $350/month with 0 down, but not complaining at $375 was the lowest out of 4 dealers
Also, didn't know I could've spread the tax monthly in NY; not that it's a big deal

2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum in Storm Blue with Charcoal Interior. New (non-demo) with less than 20 miles. MSRP 41,555 (FLOOR MATS/TRUNK MAT & TRUNK NET, SPLASH GUARDS, ILLUMINATED KICKPLATES). Final price including $5,000 incentive was $32,940.
Tax, title and license brought it to just about $36k for me

2016 Maxima SV
3 weeks ago I bought a 2016 SV with 40 miles. (new car just test driven for 40 miles....they use the whole inventory for test drives I guess)
My dealer is a 'no haggle' pricing dealer. I paid 27,999. That included 3500 in rebates and 5500 in dealer discount. Something like that, I got 8200 off the MSRP.
My trade was worth 2,000 more than I owed and I qualified for 2.2% not through Nissan financing. 72 months for $407 a month.
The only thing I may have done better with was the value of my trade. It sold before it was ever posted online. (or they did something else with it) My last car I traded to the same dealer was online for 3 weeks or so.

Probably not the right thread, but this is probably better than starting a new one.
I can get into a lease on a SV (not sure if its a 16 or 17) for 299 a month..thats more than im paying on my 14 SV Sport, but im thinking that may be the best I can get...plus my current lease is about to be up

Got my new 2016 SR on November 29. Sticker price was $39,790. No haggle price was $27,780. Can't complain there. She had 12 miles on her and had been sitting in the showroom.

Wow!!!! I just bought mine on Tuesday (SR also). Used as it had 10,017 miles on it. I paid $28,900 which I found through TrueCar that it was over $5k less than normal price in my area (South NJ). That is an awesome deal.

It is incredible indeed. 2016 SR has a sticker of 39,330. Invoice is 37,194. I think there is $5k cash on it. So the vehicle was about $4.9k under invoice no haggle. Where are these no haggle dealers and why don't I ever run into one

I looked back through the entire thread. Funny to see Sheehy mentioned earlier for low prices. I think I did well since there's 4 different Nissan dealerships in the area. Another one had an SR for $27,200 without the extras I got. The dealer I wanted to purchase from couldn't get their act together and answer a simple question about an SL that was also $27K something. I only looked at pricing of the dealership that I brought from in 2012. I'd NEVER buy from them again, because they treated me like crap after the sale when there was an issue with the paint.

Folks,
What is a good price on a 2017 Maxima SL in Southern, NJ? I'm talking to both Cherry Hill Nissan and Turnersville. Price is coming in around 32,500 before tax and tags. Not sure if thats a good deal or not?
Appreciate any advice and price guidance.
Thanks!

(Being in the business does come with advantages) If handled correctly you can and I just did get the dealer to between $7500 and $8000 below MSRP on a 2016 Maxima Platnium. Im happy to assist anyone in the market for a new or pre owned vehicle or even simply answer questions; Im happy to help.

Hi everyone,
I am new here and would really appreciate any comments.
Yesterday I test drove Maxima SR Midnight Edition 2017. Man it is a gorgeous car. For MSRP of $40,655 they are gonna sell it to me for $37K (plus fees), which I think is a bad deal (I am getting 0% APR though so I lose some rebates).
I also got quoted $35.1K (plus fees) for a Platinum with MSRP of $41,600 (from another dealership), it is black also. This deal looks much better to me, but I lose black rims and sporty suspension.
I have two questions:
1) is midnight worth additional $2K in your opinion?
2) I am really really worried about CVT reliability. I own Pathfinder 2015 currently with 26K miles on it and read all about this issue on pathfinder forums. Purchased extended warranty for it because of the problem (got it really cheap).
Is Maxima's CVT more reliable, or it is still a crapshoot? I dont want to trash such a beautiful car in 5 years.
Thanks in advance.

My Strategy
just purchase a 17 in October. I literally went to 10 dealerships and kept the estimates and would take it to another dealer who would beat the price, then kept that estimate, and go to the next dealership. I was originally going to buy a 16 platinum, but ended up with such a good deal on the 17, I bought it. All this took about 5 months of active searching, but glad it did cause I ended up with the 17. I walked away at 36k on a 17 pearl white platinum with spoiler, kick plates, and some other minimal stuff from standard. It was 6200 off my car's MSRP. This was of course before taxes. I know it was under invoice too. I refused to pay the dealer fee as well when every other dealership said I had to pay it and refused to drop it. Funny story is I test drive at one dealership, gave the other dealership the vin number because it was the one I wanted with a spoiler they did not have in stock, and they got it in less than 48 hours! Only thing is I got a little screwed on my interest rate, but plan on paying it off early anyways... failed to do more research on that front. I think since I got such a good deal on the car that they did not offer the Nissan well qualified buyer discount. That and I financed for 72 months, but the difference between that and the 60 was like 0.25 percent APR... good luck!

The price of 37,500 is including taxes, title, dealer fees and everything, out of the door... It was a tremendous deal IMO
Actually the dealer in FL, charged me the taxes and title and they submitted everything to TX DMV, so I'm just waiting for my registration and plates in the mail.

2. Please post pre sales tax figure so we can compare

This is a great price, and that figure of 32,735 is what we were after (okay, plus the 699 + 106.50 as they were fees; and destination fees are rolled into the MSRP of 43,035), because rest of it will vary for everyone and we have no control over. But still very confused how a FL dealer collected TX tax. Never saw that one before. Oh well - learn something new everyday.

I have heard next state dealers collecting tax as convenience to a customer. Perhaps they have some sort of interstate agreement, or dealer has presence in TX? When I bought car in Maryland, and I am from CT, I had to pay tax locally and all I had was a temp tags from the dealer.
#597
well, technically speaking the price was 34235 with "appearance package" rolled in.

I did everything by phone and internet, after agreeing on the numbers I flew to FL and drove back to TX the next day.

I just leased a 17 SR Midnight Package (all black).
I put $2999 down and with taxes am paying $374 a month. The original price was $40,800 and I think between the dealership and Nissan rebate I got it down to 35k. Looks like other's got better deals than me on leases.
