How much did you pay? *new car shopper*
#601
I just leased a 17 SR Midnight Package (all black).
I put $2999 down and with taxes am paying $374 a month. The original price was $40,800 and I think between the dealership and Nissan rebate I got it down to 35k. Looks like other's got better deals than me on leases.

Check your residual. If it is below 21k and if you plan to use less miles, it may be worth purching the vehicle at the end of the lease.
Enjoy your new maxima

I might be making a deal here soon. Tell me what you guys think.
2017 Maxima Platinum with Medallion Package, Splash Guards, and Floor Mats/Trunk Mat/Trunk Net. Photo of sticker price below.
Dealer online price listed as MSRP 42,640 with 8,777 difference for 33,863 asking price.
Talked to a salesman on the phone and he quoted me 37,206 OTD financed through NMAC.
Dealer is in Tennessee so tax is 7%.
Price quoted was out the door, so it includes tax, 865 destination fee and 388 marketing assessment fee.
Whatcha think? How much lower, if any, you think I can go from here?

Hello guys, thought I would contribute. I just leased 2017 SL in January. Base payment of $355/month 36 month/15k lease. Zero down. That excludes 6% sales tax tacked onto the monthly payment. So payments over 36 months of $12800 ish, residual in the $19/k range. This car is leasing pretty well. Had to shop around, most dealers were offering the SL at another 60 to $70 per month right off the bat with no negotiating.
The residual on this care is pretty bad, probably due to incentives, fleet sales. I know they are selling Max's to rental fleets.
Still, very happy with my payment and car. Dealer still probably made some money. Seems like there is about $6k in wiggle room between MSRP and transaction prices where the dealer can still profit based on incentives available. We should all bless the crossover craze because it is driving down prices on sedans.

I should just qualify that in case anyone tries to replicate the deal. There was 600 due at signing but they paid two remaining payments on my old lease the same amount, so for my purposes, I say it was zero down. How they took care of old lease payments, no idea. I know they didn't buy out the old car from manufacturer though.

I just bought a 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum w/ Medallion Package
I figured I'd add my purchase details, since some of the information in this forum helped me with my buying strategy.
What an amazing car for the money. In addition to looking at the Maxima, I was interested in an Acura TLX, Honda Civic (lower budget option, and I like the new body style), and a 4 cylinder Cadillac CTS 2.0 AWD Turbo. In the end it came down to technology upgrades, comfort, style, performance V6, and safety. I've always wanted a Cadillac, but the tech was lacking for the price range I was in, and there is something about Cadillac and 4 cylinder that makes me cringe.

Bought mine today! White, SL. $30,815 plus TTL. total OTD was a bit over 33k. 2.49% for 72 months through capital one, $504 per month. Free nitrogen tire inflation too. After purchase another dealer offered me $29,850. But it was about 3 hours round trip away.
Pretty excited and enjoying the car!

I just leased a 2017 Maxima Platinum with medallion package. MSRP is $43030. $3000 first payment and $370/month including 9.5% tax for 36 months. Looks like I didn't get the best deal but it's probably not the worst either? I really want the medallion package and it is hard to shop for that. I went to 5 dealers and I only found 5 cars has that. I didn't really like the color on those ones except there is one gun metallic/charcoal, but it turned out to be a demo car with 1400 miles on it. I ended up at a dealer that would get a car from another dealership that is further away.

Almost a done deal...
Looking for any feedback before finalizing Tuesday night.
2017 Nissan Maxima SL Bordeaux Black in WI
MSRP $38,315
Includes: Destination Fee, Hideaway Trunk Net, and Splash Guards (are the Trunk Net and Splash Guards truly accessories? They seem standard on all the SL's I've seen).
LESS: $3,500 Rebate, $2,187 Dealer Incentives, $1,150 Negotiating =
$6,837 Off
$31,478 Before Tax, Title, License, and a couple B.S. dealer fees (total < $500). Didn't seem to want to wiggle anymore before I left today. Trying to sell me Ultimate Protection Package for $1,500!!! Basically extra coating on interior and exterior and gives the paint job and interior a 7 year warranty for any spills, rips, water spots, tree sap, etc. They market it by saying you never have to wax your car because it retains the glossy look. I'd do it...for maybe 1/3 the price.
Anyway probably going to take 2.9%/72. Appreciate any feedback. Will post exact actuals once completed.

I guess its the bottom line that counts, but I see curious items on the deal sheet.
I have heard of college grad and military discounts, in your case, they charged you extra???
Also $995.00 PDI (pre delivery inspection)???
It seems the dealer is giving you a steep discount, only to charge you for some b/s items?

I know, I haggled over the PDI for a bit with the sales GM, and I made him itemize all the things they do. Couldn't get him to waive it. I did get a brochure at the end that lists all the little operations they make to prepare the vehicle for delivery, and it's a full 3 pages... Still, I see it as highway robbery...
But yeah, I focused on the bottom line and I managed to get that down by some $3k.

The second line on the sheet includes all the discounts available. Since I don't qualify for college or military, they added them back.

As far as PDI, yes, highway robbery. I have not seen PDI being a chargeable item. This is something that dealer is responsible for before they sell you the car. It seems dealers are getting "creative" in order to add "fixed" costs to the sale. Same with doc fees that are getting out of hand.
My coworker also recently traded Kia Optima for a Maxima SR.

Well let me start by saying I live in Kentucky on post (Army). I purchased my SV in Tennessee. Since I'm military I payed no taxes on the car. So I traded in my 2013 Kia Optima SXL in which they gave me 20K for depreciation is a *****! I was upside down 3500, they tact that on the back end. So out the door I payed 39,350.
Here is what I traded in minus the wheels...
Here is my SV...
Oh and by the way did a lil research today... and Kia and Nissan have the same bolt pattern. Well atleast the Optima and Maxima do. All I need is some new hub centric rings. looks like I just might be going staggered after all. Just need to find some lowering springs now so I have that proper stance!

I'm looking to buy later this year, but I won't be ready until at least October, which probably means 2018 models will be out.
I'm hoping to snag a 2017 model at a discount by then, just hope there are still some pearl blue platinums still on the lot. I can't see spending 40k for a car no matter how good it is. I see some of you have got crazy good deals. I'm not a very good negotiator, if I can get OTD for less than 39k I'll be satisfied.
One question though, I'm planning to put about 30% down and finance the rest. I hate discussing financing at the dealership so I'm going to get my loan approved beforehand. Did any of you get good deals without financing through Nissan or is that always required?
