Smile New Coulis Red SR Here

After five weeks, the dealership finally got the parts from Nissan to replace the gas tank to remedy the recall issue and I was able to pick up my Maxima SR in Coulis Red today. It has carpeted mats, splash guards, premium spoiler and ground lighting. The window tint is 30% on the sides and 20% on the rear. I will be ordering rocker panels tomorrow. I'm looking forward to many years of great driving.

The first 2016 Maxima I actually sat in was a Coulis Red at an intro party at my dealer May 14th. I sat in every seat in that car and circled it for almost three hours, and when I left around 9PM, I was sure I would buy a Coulis Red when the car was officially released.

Buit time passed, my dealer did not get a Coulis Red, and by mid-June, I had decided to go back to the color I have relied on most of my life - silver. But that Coulis Red is an absolute head-turner.

Congrats on the great looking ride! I'm glad to finally see someone here actually get a Coulis Red Max. It's the color I would pick.

Congratulations! Really like this shade of Red. Please let us know how the dealer installed rocker panels work out.

I installed my rocker panels today. It took about 45 minutes, most of which was spent figuring out the first one. The second one took about 15 minutes. If you don't have a way to elevate the car, you MUST have a 90 degree drill to do this. Even with that, I only had about a half inch of clearance between the back of the drill and the garage floor.

I think they add a nice accent to the car.

Wow that's gorgeous. They chrome really pops on a darker color. Didn't you also purchase the diffuser? Can I ask what you paid for the rockers? And the diffuser if you did purchase it? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. No, I didn't get the diffuser. I wish I had of. I got the ground lighting instead. I used the 25% off promo code and got the rocker panels for $255 plus tax and $5 freight charge. So, the total was $281.04.

Has anyone seen, or better yet, have a picture of a rear diffuser installed on anything but a white or black 2016 Maxima? I'm interested to see how it looks.

I installed LED fog light bulbs today. They are extremely bright and look much better than the yellow halogen bulbs, in my opinion.

Looks very nice. I want to do the same for mine. Can you send me a link of the ones you installed? How long did it take you? Will it void any warranty?

If you are referring to the LED fog lights, I used these:

Amazon.com: JDM ASTAR 1200 Lumens Extremely Bright 144-EX Chipsets H16 5202 TYPE 2 (with 90 degree angle) LED Bulbs with Projector for DRL or Fog Lights, Xenon White: Automotive Amazon.com: JDM ASTAR 1200 Lumens Extremely Bright 144-EX Chipsets H16 5202 TYPE 2 (with 90 degree angle) LED Bulbs with Projector for DRL or Fog Lights, Xenon White: Automotive

It takes about 15 minutes to change them out. A handful of forum members have installed these on their 2016 Maximas. A few have had issues with some moisture in the fog light housing after replacing the bulbs, however.

To answer your question, I'm not aware of the act of replacing the fog light bulbs causing any issues with the car's warranty.

I bought the same bulbs, but had my dealer install them. They said it would not affect any warranty, but if there was a problem with the bulbs (moisture in the housings, etc.) that it would not be covered.

What?
So to keep the warranty intact for moisture in the fog lights you have to have the dealer install OEM bulbs when they burn out?

Sounds like it. But it's the individual service manager's call with something like this.

I changed my license plate lights and backup lights to LEDs this evening. It's an easy minor modification, but I like the white light of the LEDs much more than the yellowish light from the stock bulbs.

This picture is to demonstrate the difference in color temperature between the LEDs and stock license plate bulbs.

Great pics Dr!~ I'm hoping you will share the specifics on those backup LED bulbs please?!
I'm in-process of adding the LED fogs tonight, and I *really* like those bright backups.
Throw in the LED license bulb if you have it handy too... I don't have any idea where you found the right connector/type of bulbs to use

Thanks

There are no adjustments necessary. They are the correct bulb size and they fit just as a halogen would. Just plug them in and you're good to go.

I read somewhere there are 4 fog lamp bulbs. So should I order two sets of these bulbs or does one set come with 4 bulbs? Also on amazon it says this does not fit you 2016 maxima. As long as it is the correct bulb I would like to order them.

There are two bulbs per set, so you will need two sets. This is the link and they do fit.

So when I go to this site and plug in 2017 maxima or 2016 maxima it says product does not fit my car. I'm assuming it stated same for you but you took a chance and they did fit?
Thank you

Yea same here with the fitment on Amazon. Don't think Amazon is working properly. You just have to know what type of bulb we have for fogs which is H16 and for Halogen type High beam its H9 and Low beam H11. Looking at philips
Amazon Amazon
but couldn't find H9.
